Indonesia #03: Kuta and Uluwatu [EN/GER]

in #travelfeed6 years ago (edited)

Our journey began in Kuta in Bali. Tourists visit Kuta for two reasons: Surfing and partying. If you are not into one of those things, you’ll probably hate Kuta. It was the most touristic place on our trip, by far! If you want to party, we can recommend the Sky Garden for starting the evening, where you have an all you can eat (and drinks as well!) for quite a reasonable price. The waves off the coast of Kuta are perfect for surfing, but the beach isn’t that beautiful. If you just want to relax, you are at the wrong address. In total we stayed two nights in Kuta, in two different hostels because the first one (Gong Corner Homestay) was terrible. At the second night we stayed at the Celebest Hostel, which was really nice. It even had a pool, for less than 4USD!

We made one interesting day trip, to the temple of Uluwatu. We shared a taxi with the lady from the hostel, because we were afraid of renting a scooter at that time (we changed our minds pretty soon though) ;)
The temple itself isn’t spectacular, but the location directly at the cliff is breathtaking! You have to beware of the monkey though! They will steal everything they can from you. Be sure to put off your hats and glasses and watch for you cameras, otherwise the monkeys will get them!

In the evening we went for a few drinks in the Sky Garden (maybe a few drinks more ;)).
Tomorrow it is time for some relaxing at the beach in Sanur.

Da gibt es ein günstiges All you can eat and drink mit anschließender Party.
