Presidential bridge

The Volga River divides our city into two parts, their banks connect two bridges. Until November 2011, there was only one bridge in the city -
Imperial.
In 1980, the government decided to build a new bridge. It was necessary to redirect the increasing flow of cars, the city was already choking in traffic jams. Especially great difficulties were delivered by long-haul trucks. They began to pass through the bridge only after 12 o'clock at night, which was extremely inconvenient.

Therefore, the second bridge was simply necessary for the city, it was originally planned to build it in 10 years, but the difficult 90s did their job and the bridge was built for a long 23 years.
The length of the Presidential bridge is 5824 meters, and the entire bridge transition is 12970, the bridge is two-tiered, the width of the upper tier is 25 meters, its estimated throughput capacity is up to 40 thousand cars per day.

In this photo, the view of the bridge from the left bank is actually a very beautiful sight, it is a pity my camera could not convey it.

Driving along the Presidential Bridge is quite clearly visible Imperial and vice versa.

They are quite close to each other.
