Even the little polar bear ornament wants to be a part of #TreeTuesday! I mean, who doesn't, right? So gather up your trees and haul them over to the old guy's place. I hear he needs a tree or three more to make it a real festival.

You can always bring a few ornaments to fancy up the place. I am not sure how decorated his place is. You can never have too many bright and beautiful pieces of Christmas, right??

Cue the music

Hours upon hours looking for just the right Christmas #TreeTuesday! In this sea of evergreen, I just know mine is out there. Somewhere.

Over the rainbow.

"Songs from How the Grinch Stole Christmas” sing about a kitty that ate the tinsel on the Christmas tree. “It shines and glows and glitters on each bough, ‘cause tinsel is the holiday cat’s meow” Who could resist?

I think this may be the one. What do you think? I gave you the short version of Christmas tree shopping. We went to seven different places, including two of our "never fail" nurseries. Oi! That was almost a fail! At the last minute, the man pulled one out from somewhere and it was just perfect. Nice shape, nice color, nice branch spacing... oh, so much to take into consideration, right?

IMG_8098.JPG

A few little baubles and some glitter-me-Christmas ornaments and I can see the tree coming together nicely. Standing in the room, it is just starting to be decorated. At least another 300 ornaments and we may call it done We'll know when we get there. Come on!! You know you want to help decorate it!

They want to be picked. They yearn to be loved. Shouldn't we all want to be? There must be a flower. Always a flower.

This flower is for #TuesdayOrange in the #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra.

Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, so we must try harder to give everyone the proper focus.

Picking the right Christmas tree is a serious matter. One of the options we have over here: baby evergreens in pots. They can be planted after they served festive purpose and become part of the garden and be decorated next year. Obviously, one can never have too many Christmas trees, right? 🙂🎄

I have used potted plants many times and love them! If we have a cut tree or cut our own, we plant 10 in its place to keep it all going. One can never have too many Christmas trees!! You are so right!

!tip

Thank you for the tip. Much appreciated.
I wish for more people to be like you and me. Planting trees instead of just cutting. There was huge improvement made in the last 10 years or so. We have special evergreen nurseries where they grow trees especially for Christmas. 🙂

Yes!! Christmas Tree Farms. That is where I go, but, in the Spring, The Forest Service "Plant-A-Tree" Program permits individuals and groups to donate money for the planting of trees on National Forests. I pulled that from Google to explain, or on Arbor Day, plant the 10 they give you for donating. It is a win-win, I think.

Nobody should cut without planting. :(

Well I actually shot a little video of my Charlie Brown tree. Funny we must have been on the same wavelength lol.

I love the smell of a fresh cut tree. We have decided this is the last year for the lil Charlie Brown tree. Going back to a live one when I get out of here!

You know it always makes the Old Guy happy to see you in the tag! Well done D.

Did you post it the video yet? I can hardly wait to see it. ;) I want to know what a Charlie Brown tree looks like!

!tip

I am just working on it now. My Christmas tree is a real doozy!

Well, you know we all want to see it!

I just saw a couple bringing in a fresh tree into the elevator as I left home for class yesterday. Smells good.

They really do!!! My entire house smells like a forest of pines! Thank you for stopping by! :)

You're welcome.

Lots of tree are decorated with the ornaments for make the Christmas remarkable.

It is a very special time of year. Thank you!

Interesting tradition killing a tree and bringing it into the house for a week or two.

The History of Christmas Trees
A Christmas Tree with gold baubles
The evergreen fir tree has traditionally been used to celebrate winter festivals (pagan and Christian) for thousands of years. Pagans used branches of it to decorate their homes during the winter solstice, as it made them think of the spring to come. The Romans used Fir Trees to decorate their temples at the festival of Saturnalia. Christians use it as a sign of everlasting life with God.

Does it make you feel better knowing that I plant 10 more for each tree I take down?

I have a tradition to uphold!

Hi. Mike! @manorvillemike

One for one is good. :-)

Sounds reasonable. They always seem to come in batches of ten from the Forestry Department of the people on Arbor Day!

Such sweet shots I love seeing all the decorations at this time of year, infact this gives me an idea for a market friday post this week :)

!tip

Oh, you know how much I love your #MarketFriday posts!!!

Yay! I can hardly wait to see it. But, hey... see how you feel for the week first. ;)

!tip

Thanks for the tip

I am sure I can come up with something I had a plan for this morning but the train may have messed that up we got a notice of a track change so walked to the other platform then the train came in on. Kemal platform so I got a little run in before the train lol 😂

Oh, boo!!!

They closed the entire yellow line on the Metro for two weeks!? Hello!! Oh, they did give notice so everyone can angst about it for a week. Don't you love it?

What they closed it thats crazy at this time of year especially

They just closed the Green Line before it. They are doing maintenance, one line at a time... two weeks each. It is crazy. And so is the traffic.

There are six lines Red, Yellow, Green, Orange, Blue and Silver. They all share tracks except the red line which covers most of the downtown tunnels.

Oh, the struggle is real to commute! LOL

Ohh yes I think when I visited there once one of the lines was down for maintenance for a couple of days, the joys of commuting

Wow! I like the huge Christmas tree and the street food. I wish I could fly over for the weekend.
Here is a decoration from my place for you in return

Thank you! How beautiful this is! We put candles in all the windows of our house. It is something my grand-mère always did, then my mom, now all of m siblings. Feels almost like a tradition. Isn't it nice with the lightbulbs? I cannot imagine how many house fires it must have started 100 years ago with the candles burning.

I love big Christmas trees. I admit I love the grandeur of the moment. I love the season, the spirit and the over the top joy I feel. Well, okay. I always feel like that. :)

But, I never forget the reason for this season.

Thank you for the visit and all the wonderful words. I went back and gave you a follow and hope that you do well in the contest. I know about those hard-earned rep points. I never paid a bot either and I sometimes had to sit and watch them all jump ahead of me, but, guess what? I am getting there, vote by vote. We will both make it. Thanks again @ravijojla (Tell me your first name?)

!tip

Hey @dswigle :-)
Let me introduce properly - my name is Maggie, pleased to meet you.
It is in our family's tradition to get together on major holidays as we all live at great distances. I love to decorate particularly during that season because of the joy I see around. Yet, you are so very right about the reason to celebrate and rejoyce. A hope for all of us is born.

Thank you very much for your kind support and the follow. Pfeeew, it happens quite slowly for me too, but I think this is a part of the long-term effects equation. I see people speeding up ahead and wonder sometimes what is that I'm not doing...but this is a mind trap. We are doing very well indeed and there is no obvious reason to hurry. Enjoy the moment :-)

Hi, Maggy!! @ravijojla Hehe! I just wanted to call you by name! I live far from my family and we do the same. It is a wonderful time of the year when we can all get together. I live in the Washington, DC area, so it is very centrally located to everyone else.

I don't worry about how big I am anymore. It mattered when I didn't have enough power to vote, but, now I just have to learn how to vote smaller and conserve. ;)

Now THAT is hard!

I have the same obstacle to master. Conserve. Well, learning on the go - this is even more exciting!
