WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??????

Suffering is often caused by not putting a 'ceiling on our desires'

Don't get me wrong, I believe we are entitled to abundance on all levels, being the Divine beings that we are.
But... identifying with the parts of false selves that we have gathered along the way we believe in shortage.
And we crave, we crave...fulfilment.
We feel so empty it's suffocating us, so we grasp outside of ourselves for something, anything to fill us up.
The hole inside is so big, one cigarette won't do the job, maybe two, ah no, five wil surely give us the fix we want.
Another car, new shoes, some chocolate and some love, why is this not working?????

Because we have to realise who we are!

Who are we?
We are certainly not empty beings that need to be filled up with outside stuff.
At most the outside stuff can give a nice reflection of our inner splendour, so we can see ourselves.
But this would be a movement from the outside in, bringing us back to ourselves.
Always having enough, always being fulfilled, anything on the outside is merely a bonus and bonuses are always coming our way because we ARE abundance.
In this way we are not grasping around us as if we are looking for a lifebuoy, having ceiling-less unquenchable desires, with unrealistic beliefs that their fulfilment will one day make us happy.

Keep on searching with your searchlight, but turn it inside.

Put a ceiling on those desires, enjoyment is good for you to bring you back inside as a testimony to the Bliss that you ARE but if you use it as an escape by denying your Greatness and believing you're an empty vessel, they will lead you further astray, the more you give in to them in that way.
Putting a ceiling on your desires will help you turn inside for satisfaction, as that is where the source of it is anyway.

What you have written is close to my heart.
All false desires are actually ego desires. Many people confuse their true desires with those of egos. I wonder if you know Alan Watts?

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad it appealed to you. No, I don't know Alan Watts. What's he all about?

@wombloom your article reminds me a little of what he preached. He was a british philosopher who popularized Eastern philosophy, especially Taoism and Buddhism. However you have written a very interesting article and I'm waiting for the next one! :)

Oh, cool! Thanks for the appreciation, it really motivates to write more!

First, i will read @zen-arts post to my volunteers during our weekly meeting on wednesday and then i will read your post @wombloom. I wish that my volunteers should start thinking very deep. I think its time we start searching for who we are from the inside and put a ceiling on our desires like you have said. its a very reflective piece
