The fourth day (May second) finally turned sunny!
Izu looks great in the sun!
The first place we went to today were the terraced rice paddies near Matsuzaki, very beautiful.

After this we went to Kumomi Sengen Shrine. I didn't realise it was such a walk up to the shrine, well, it only took about 35 minutes to the top, but it was really worth it, there are some stunning views from here.

On this day we finally left the campsite and made our way up to Toi to stay one more night in a Mishuku, like a Japanese bed and breakfast place.

So, after leaving Kumomi Shrine, we worked our way up the coast stopping to look at the interesting things on the way.

Next stop was the Muroiwado abandoned quarry....

Quite an interesting place, pretty big inside and totally free.

After this we went to Sawada open air hot spring. Only 500 yen, No soap, but the waters are good and the view is terrific, so I heard from my girlfriend, she got in to the women's section but the men's was to busy, so I went for a stroll instead and took some pictures...

Before the hotspring, we managed to, eventually get into a fish donburi restaurant nearby, good food, nice and fresh and cheap, but very crowded...

Now we come to the most crowded part of the trip, Dougashima, its supposed to be the Matsushima of Izu. Matsushima is one of the three most beautiful places in Japan. I would agree, but most of the coast of west Izu is equally as beautiful, but not as popular by far.
So here's some pictures of Dougashima, nice but touristy. The ships weren't running that day because the waves were too strong.

On this day we also went to the cliff shaped like a horse and a few other interesting beaches and fishing villages, here's a few samples of the lovely scenery...

This rock is supposed to look like two seahorses kissing, at Ootago beach.

This is the horse shaped cliff at Koganezaki park.

The last stop before the B&B was the Lovers Cape. Its got two bells there you can ring, couples go there, the men dragged by their wives or girlfriends, well, maybe not dragged, because its a very nice spot and easy to see Mt. Fuji on a good day.

Then we finally got to Toi, checked in and then made it just in time to see the sunset from the beach. The sunsets in the west of Izu are famous in certain beaches along the peninsula. Here's a few pictures to close off day four...
