I traveled to the Shimokita Peninsula, which is located northeast of Aomori Prefecture in Japan.
The Shimokita Peninsula is endowed with abundant marine products such as fish, shellfish and seaweed, and has cultivated its own culture for the location which is hardly affected by the Japanese archipelago.

下北半島に行ったことはありますか？
青森県の北東に位置する下北半島を旅行しました。
下北半島は魚、貝、海藻などの海産物恵まれています。また、日本列島本島の影響を受けにくいためか独自の文化を培ってきました。
The most famous in Shimokita Peninsula is Osorezan. The mountain is a sacred place.
Rock reminiscent of Hell. And Heaven reminiscent of a lake.
下北半島のメインディッシュはやはり恐山でしょうか。
地獄を彷彿とさせる荒涼とした岩肌。そして天国を連想してしまうようなカルデラ湖「宇曽利湖」。宇曽利湖の水は恐山入口に流れ、あの世とこの世の境界「三途の川」となります。
恐山は圧倒的聖地なのです。
I visited at a temple and got a gosyuin.
恐山菩提寺でお参りしました。御朱印もいただきましたよ。
It is Fudo.
恐山奥の院にある光背が印象的な不動明王像です。
Wisdom to live life enriched.
様々な教え。身にしみます。
I can not remove meal for my trip!
I think that it is time to be blessed to eat dishes using ingredients from visited places. There are many cheap and delicious seafood in the local grocery store.
旅には食が外せません！
訪れた地の食材を使った料理に舌鼓をうつ-できれば旬の食材で、できればなるべくリーズナブルに-のは至福のときだと思っています。地元のスーパーにお邪魔すると安くて美味しい海産物の宝庫でございましたHappy！
Scallops that can be taken at Mutsu Bay in the Shimokita Peninsula are delicious, and when I visited it was just a season. I bought fresh and bargain scallops and enjoyed it on the spot.
わたしが狙ったのはホタテ。
陸奥湾でとれるホタテは美味で、しかも訪れた時にはちょうど旬と聞いていました。新鮮でお買い得なホタテを買い、地元の方のレクチャーで堪能しました。
Delicious potato chips.
コンビニで偶然見つけた農協チップスふらのっち（ポテトチップス？？？）。北海道の富良野から名をとっているのでしょう・・・確かの下北から北海道は目と鼻の先ですね。
I accidentally saw the sight of drying seaweed.
移動中珍しい光景を目にしました。
マグロで有名な大間ではそこかしこで海藻（こんぶ？）を日に当てて乾燥させて出荷するらしいですね。

大間の近くの海（赤石海岸）はこんな感じ。
I saw wild animals while moving through the peninsula. I met photographs of monkeys, deer and raccoon dogs. It is fortunate that we never came across the bear.
道路に野生のお猿さんが戯れていました。そういえば恐山を登る途中にタヌキや鹿もいましたね。自然が手付かずで残っている証左です。
"Hotogegaura" is a huge rock formations.
仏ヶ浦は半島西部の奇岩群です。
近くでも遠望でも圧巻で、しかも日が落ちるタイミングだったのでなおのこと美しい・・・。
「仏ヶ浦」とは
如来の首、五百羅漢、一ツ仏、屏風岩、
天龍岩、蓮華岩、双鶏門、帆掛岩、
極楽浜 などの名前が付けられた
岩々の総称を指す

どれも美しい写真ですね。海産物もとても美味しそうです♪
私も20年ほど前に一度だけ恐山を訪れたことがあるんですが、恐山そのものもですが、そこへ向かう長い道中が修行に向かうようなそんな気持ちにさせられた（って言ってもバスでしたけど＾＾；）ことを覚えています。最近は潮来（いたこ）さんの存在が気になってます。
イタコって「潮来」って書くんですね知りませんでした。
実は潮来さんを見てみたくて恐山にいったのもあるんですよね。
ただ、大人の男性が潮来さんの目の前で泣き崩れていて、ジロジロ見るのは憚られましたね。なんというか現代社会の歪みを感じました。
