First Impressions Make a Lasting Impact!!
I'm sure you've heard the expression "first impressions are everything" many times before, but maybe it's never really sunk in for you.
I met someone today who obviously hadn't let this lesson sink in. They walked around in an obviously irritated mood and when asked a question they would be hostile in their answer and un-friendly.
First impressions last my friend.
I was just watching the way people reacted to this person's interaction with them and they left the interaction feeling irritated as well..
See, first impressions don't just make a lasting impact on yourself, they can create a ripple effect of negativity to each of the people who interacts with you in a negative way.
That's why it's so important to always look for the positives in everything. There's always a lesson to be learned, a person to say hello to, a reason to smile, etc. etc.
If you look for the good side in everything, then you'll always find one.. If you don't believe me then take me up on the following challenge:
Spend the entire day tomorrow looking for the positive side in everything that you think of, do, or have happen to you.
If you buy a coffee and the barista is mean, smile and tell them to have a great day! (you are finding a positive in an irritable conversation by looking for a way to help the other person have a great day rather than emulating their "mean" intentions)
If you walk down the street and bump into someone and crack your phone, smile and ask them if they are ok. Tell them that mistakes happen and it's just a material possession that can be easily replaced. (even if something bad happens and it is entirely not your fault, you can always look for the positive and help someone else learn to be better in the future or maybe even learn how to be better yourself)...
There is a positive in every situation, you just have to look up and smile!

Another great post. To some degree I would say that you're right.
First impression last very long if it's negative one. End of story.
Let's not fool ourself that making positive and good impression will also be lasting very long. In that case the most important impression is "last"impression.
Plus first impression can be easily erased. Very easily. Either it's negative one or positive. Last impression is always what matters the most.
If you know someone for longer than few weeks ... then what do you care about? first impression? or all impressions that came after that one?

positivity always wins! You never know when you're going to catch someone's eye and make that first impression either. I think many of us would be surprised how small the world really is, especially with technology expanding the way it is has. Anyways, love this post!
