We girls like to wear colorful accessories and combine them with our clothes, but we can't have the biggest collection we would like because there are always other priorities to use the money, for this reason the creativity used in our favor is very valuable, and more so if you have social networks like www.pinterest.com where there is such a large gallery of ingenious ideas to put into practice our skills in handicrafts.
Chinese tassels, fringes or pom-poms are a very simple decorative element to make, which we can use in our sewing projects, or also make them with tissue paper for party decorations or simply pieces of origami. Tassels of thread or other materials can be a trendy decorative element in key chains, bracelets and necklaces.
Today I want to share with the community the step-by-step process of making the Chinese tassels with yarn, the technique is very simple, it would even be an artisan activity for the girls and they could use this new school material, which is also very economical and available in a wide range of colors.
From the main technique we can explore other materials such as: sewing thread, wool or wick. For the combination of textures and colors we will give free rein to our creativity, as well as the use that we will give it, either for a gift or to sell our pieces. Materials:
Yarn.
A cardboard rectangle.
Scissors.
Step one:
The cardboard will be the standard for measuring the length of the fringes. To form the tassel, wrap the cardboard with several turns of yarn until the desired thickness is achieved.
Step two:
We remove the cardboard and pass a ribbon of yarn through the roll formed.
Step three:
We tie the ribbon and tighten it with a strong knot.
Step four:
With another ribbon of yarn we tie one end of our tassel to shape it.
Step five:
We cut the lower ends of the tassel to free up the yarn ends, with this last step our decorative Chinese tassel for accessories will be ready.
