Hey everyone, here, and welcome back to comes with a lot of Edit Presets, which can be a quick and easy way to apply a cool look to your photos. But did you know that you can also make and save your own Edit Presets? And if you use Lightroom on more than one device (phone, tablet, computer, etc.) the Edit Presets that you make will sync automatically, and be available to you in Lightroom on all your devices. To find out more, swipe through this mini-tutorial!

Step 1:

The first thing you need to do is create a look you like. For this example, I’ve edited this photo to make it higher contrast with warmer colors. For purposes of this tutorial, the specific look doesn’t matter, all that matters is that you’ve created a look that you’d like to use again. Once you’ve done that, tap on the three dot menu…

Step 2:

And then tap “Create Preset”.

Step 3:

Give your preset a name. I called mine “High Contrast Orange”.

Step 4:

Presets can be organized into groups. By default, your new preset will go into a group called “User Presets”. You can tap the pop-up menu to create a new group.

Step 5:

Select which settings you want to have included in the preset. To include all settings, tap on the “Select” pop-up menu, then tap “All”.

Step 6:

There may be times, however, when you do not wish to include all settings. For example, maybe you want to create a preset that applies a vignette to a photo, without changing any other editing. In that case you would uncheck all of the settings except for the “Vignette” setting (located in the “Effects” section).

Step 7:

When you’re done, tap the checkmark.

Step 8:

To use your new preset on another photo, select the photo that you wish to apply the preset to, then tap on the “Presets” icon (you may have to scroll the controls a bit to see this icon).

Step 9:

Then, from the pop-up, select whatever group it was that you put the preset in and tap on your preset. Tap the checkmark in the lower right when you’re done. Ta-da! If you’re a paying Lightroom customer, all the presets you create will also automatically sync and be available to you in Lightroom on all your other devices.
