"The Little Queen" returns the sword of Viking

Swedish citizens have shot a young girl, aged 8, the title of "queen of Sweden," to find a dramatic discovery in a lake.

Saga Vanisik found the sword while playing at Lake Vidochern, near her family's holiday home in southern Sweden, on a Viking archival sword. "

Experts at the Johnkopens Lance Museum in Sweden have credited the sword to more than 1,500 years, CNN quoted TheLocal as saying.

"I was out of the water, throwing sticks, stones and other things, to see how deep I was, and then I found something like a stick," Vanisk said.
"I picked up that thing and pulled it out of the water, where it had a handle, a toothbrush in the end and it was all rusty, and I called my father, who rushed to take the sword."

The discovery of the young girl of the sword inspired the citizens, who called Vanessaque the "queen of Sweden," referring to the legend of King Arthur, who inherited the rule after receiving a magical sword from the lady of the lake.

"A sword dating back to the Iron Age was found with its wood and leather sheath, the first sword of its kind found in Scandinavia," Vannicek's father said in a publication on Facebook about his daughter's discovery.
According to Michael Nordström, an archaeologist at the Swedish Museum, new searches in the lake resulted in the finding of a brooch dating back to the same period as the sword, and that the place was often a site for human sacrifice.
