Yoel Romero is an amazing physical specimen. Robert Whittaker looks way more intense than he has in the past.

Round 1

Robert is attacking with a number of side kicks to the front leg of Yoel. Yoel is just shelling up and taking all the kicks. Robert is snapping strikes out. Yoel is loading up on the left hook. He has thrown two that missed. Robert continues with the side kicks. Yoel is content to try and counter. Robert is dropping his hands trying to break Yoel's guard. At the bell Yoel rips a spinning back fist that misses.

Yoel is standing with his left forearm out. Robert continues to touch Yoel with combinations. Robert is mixing up the front leg kicks. Yoel is doing the same thing. Yoel's right eye is almost closed. Robert lands a high round kick to the eye. Yoel is picking up the pace as the eye looks bad. Yoel misses an inside trip takedown. Yoel's mouth is wide open as he is gassed.

Yoel is digging upper cuts. Yoel lands a big right and Robert goes down. They are both throwing like mad. Both men eating lots of strikes. 3 minutes left and both men are trying to get their gas back. Yoel is tired with his mouth wide open. They are throwing caution to the wind. Both men blocking with their face. Big head kick for Robert. Yoel has the back. Robert changes the position and pushes Yoel to the fence.

Round 4

Robert starts with kicks all of which are landing. Robert goes back to his jab. A groin strike pauses the action as Robert hits Yoel with a front kick. Yoel is gassed and is taking all the time. Robert unloads with kicks as the action resumes. Robert thows a triple jab which all land. Yoel looks to have hurt his right hand as he is not throwing it. Robert is using his jab to pick Yoel apart. Robert is cut over his left eye. Yoel lands a left hook and Robert is stunned. Robert barely stays on his feet.

Round 5

Both guys have rock heads. Yoel is throwing for the fences. Robert needs to keep the distance with his jab. Robert keeps coming forward. Yoel lands a big left hook and Robert is down in turtle holding on to a single left trying to get his senses back. Yoel takes his back and Robert fights to stand. Robert stands and Yoel leg sweeps him down. Yoel should let him go and start punching but he is holding on. The ref breaks them. Robert is standing in the center with his hands down.
