UFC 156 - Valentina Shevchenko vs. Liz Carmouche - the Fight
Liz is stoic as she walks to the cage. Slow and deliberate. She enters the cage stepping over Mike Perry's blood. Valentina also is stoic in her slow walk to the cage. I really like Valentina but I had to lay small money on the +835 Liz.
Round 1
Liz in bouncing in and out. Valentina takes the center and is stalking moving very little. Valentina is the first to strike when the throws a three punch combo after a missed kick by Liz.
Liz land a leg kick. Valentina responds with a leg kick and two punches.
Valentina is content to counter and her strikes have a lot more zip.
Liz lands a right body kick with 2 minutes left. Valentina throws a spinning back kick. She continues to make Liz miss.
Liz is feinting a lot.

Round 2
Valentina open with a stiff jab. Valentina steps in with a sharp 1 2. She follows with a sharp front kick. Liz is staying out of range.
Liz shoot a double which is easily stuffed as she is so far out.
Liz is so far away neither can land anything. The crowd is getting restless.
Valentina tries to close the gap with a Superman Punch.
1:30 and Valentina thows a 1 2 and lands a leg kick. Valentina lands another leg kick and throw a sharp front kick. She follows with a hard spinning backfist and a three punch combo.

Round 3
Both women trade kicks most of which hit air. Valentina lands a 1 2. Liz responds with a leg kick. Valentina fires a harder one back.
3:00 left and the crowd continues to boo the lack of action. Valentina is getting more on her toes and steps in with some fast combos.
2:00 left and a straight 2 puts Liz on her back. Valentina lets her stand. They clinch in the center and Valentina has double unders and hip heist Liz to the ground and ends up in Liz' closed guard. Liz has double overs trying to stop Valentina from striking.

Round 4
The gap is closing. Liz needs to strike in the closing gap rather than just feint. Valentina jumps in with a Superman Punch and follows with a combo. Liz shoots a lazy takedown and Valentina ends up in guard. Liz holds Mission Control and tries to land a few heel stomps. Valentina is shoulder bumping her and moves to half guard. Liz regains guard as Valentina tries to pass.
The referee stands them up with 1:30 left. Liz shoots a double and Valentina lands a spinning backfist that drops Liz into Turtle. Valentina tries to take the back and ends up in side control.

Round 5
Liz has to throw caution to the wind as she is getting smoked. Both women fire high round kicks. Liz punches a air and Valentina punches Liz's guard.
Liz is in on a singlebut the sprawl is too good. Liz rolls to regain guard. Liz opens her guard. Valentina stays low and keeps top. She moves to half guard. Liz gets the lockdown but is turned the wrong way and is not trying to sweep. Valentina drops shoulder strikes and hammer fists.
