Treasure Hunting

thumbnail-w3.jpg

Over the past week or so, I've been looking into the ACTIFIT platform and I'd really like to start posting my fitness journals via their Activity Reports. Although (and now don't laugh) I've actually devolved into a complete Neanderthal when it comes to mobile phones as I currently don't use one. Despite having the app installed on my Samsung Tablet, obviously carrying it around in my pocket is a tad inconvenient.

So, this calls for some serious treasure hunting...! Somewhere around here, there is an old Galaxy 4? floating around which still works. The only reason I upgraded at the time was because the battery had been replaced with a generic brand which always needed recharging and for some reason it never seemed to hold a charge. Prehaps the Galaxy will be pardoned from it's exile to see the light of day again.

But... you see what I did there, right? I just gave my use of a mobile phone a distinct upcycled/recycled squew - which means it can rightfully hold some sort of place in my mixed-up modern-day view of rejecting the system. LOL

It brings to mind the saying, 'You can't stop progress!' - which is true because whether you take part in it or not, the world will continue to progress. But at the same time, I like to keep things in check by keeping in mind another favourite of mine which says, 'all the technology in the world can never replace the simple convenience of pen and paper'. (However, I think we're starting to get very close to it)

Anyhoo, on with the fitness journal. My first workout for this week focused on ARMS and followed the same pattern as last week. This one felt a little too 'easy' so I will increase my weights a little next week. This, of course means that I also need to treasure hunt for some heavier hand weights but you never know, maybe I'll discover some gold while I'm at it.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my post, I really appreciate your time.

Kindest Regards

While I am worried that we are losing the ability to do basic tasks like being able fixing things when they break. I also am aware that progress does not stop. Because of this I have been teaching my kids how to use computers even though they are only young . It’s already almost impossible to get a job without having some knowledge on computers as they have become part of the work place . It will only get worse and those that don’t adapt will find getting a job hard . I also have been teaching them basic things around the house just so they have a little balance and don’t need to totally rely on technology . Anyways just my thoughts , oh and good luck with the fitness thing. I hope it goes well. Have an awesome day!

Agree with everything you said, I love hearing when parents are teaching their kids traditional skills, for instance, I had a conversation recently with a single dad who was teaching his kids to make salami using the traditional methods, just as he had been taught by his father and so on, I think this is a really important concept of parenting. But you sound like you're doing a really good job of parenting, it's not an easy job and it doesn't always come naturally but I think you have your priorities in the right order and that's just as important. Hope you also have an awesome day with your family, please help them to have an extra smile or laugh today as a little gift from me :)

Interesting @alphaccino.art ...

"Over the past week or so, I've been looking into the ACTIFIT platform and I'd really like to start posting my fitness journals via their Activity Reports.'

... as another Steemian I know is very faithfully posting their workout every day. I have thought to look into it, but time ... Anyway, will be interesting to read of your "adventures" in getting going and whether, along the way ...

"... but you never know, maybe I'll discover some gold while I'm at it."

... you find any! We moved so many times, we never know what we might uncover in some of the "special places" we elected to put some items over time. Always fun to "unearth" something you thought was long gone / lost ... Nope! Just waiting in its "special place" for you to reconnect! 😉

P.S. I really like the illustrations at the end of your posts. Being artistic, are these your creations?

Isn't that one of the best feelings? to find something you thought you'd lost. That recently happened to me with a very sentimental item, I had honestly given up on it when out of the blue it shows up in a place I would never have expected - it's funny how life works like that, just when you stop worrying and accept your fate...

And yes, the illustrations are mine, I've many years of experience using Photoshop and creating graphics and really enjoy using it as a hobby apart from work. In fact, I have been thinking about creating some different footers and page separators and making them available (for free) for others to use in their blogs.

Something that I read on discord yesterday has given me some ideas on how I would go about doing that. If you ever have a need for graphics yourself, you're most welcome to give me a shout.

Up before 🌄 (here) @alphaccino.art, and catching up a bit … Yes, it is certainly nice to be “reacquainted” with an “old friend” … 😊 I used to think someday I would get better organized, to avoid these situations, but … Apparently, not happening! 😉

Well, yes, I do think, from time to time, I’d like to have something like that. If we can work something out, I will be happy to pay you for your time. I’ve done this exactly once before “in here,” with a fellow Steemian from Japan. In support, I wrote this post.

If this is something you’d like to pursue, then I could reach out on Discord and start a discussion about details.
