ULOG: 20 "PMI Sends 400 Blood Bags to Central Sulawesi"

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) sent 400 blood bags to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi). The PMI said the blood bag supply in the earthquake affected area was safe.
"Now the blood donation process is already underway. Many people come to the blood donation unit because we appeal to the local community there to be able to provide blood aid there. There are 400 blood bag stockings likely to increase because of Jakarta's continuous arrival," said Head of Public Relations Bureau PMI Pusat, Aulia Arriani, in the discussion of Cracked Hammer, Warung Daun, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Saturday (6/10/2018).
In addition, PMI has sent 426 volunteers to locations affected by the earthquake in Palu, Donggala and Sigi. However, the PMI's record is the difficulty of distributing aid using vehicles, because of the difficulty of availability of vehicles on site.
"Actually the problem now is not access but vehicles. Some monitoring and recognition from friends, they are ready with help but the obstacles are vehicles to use because we also have limitations. There are many people who use vehicles but it is difficult for us to rent , "he said.
According to Aulia, there is an area that has not been touched by the assistance, namely Banawa District, Donggala Regency. Some basic needs are needed such as baby diapers to clean water.
"Reportedly there are several regions in Banawa, I forgot a bit, but they are people who used to live in coastal areas whose houses were washed away by the tsunami and they evacuated themselves to run into mountainous areas and according to friends' monitoring they still haven't also get help, "said Aulia.
Even PMI also sent aid using helicopters because of limited road access. He said there were 7 subdistricts in Palu that would be sent aid.
"I also got information in Palu, there were also 7 subdistricts that we tried to conduct an assessment there. There were also several regions. It seems that there are still a lot of areas that have not been touched," he said.
