Lets look at our Local town of Tinajo Ulog #10
The Ayuntamiento (or town Hall)
The place all business is done for the county.
There are 7 Municipalities (Counties) In Lanzarote, our local council is in Tinajo.
Situated in the center west part of the island the county of Tinajo covers 136 Square kilometers. Half of which is covered by lave fields.
THE TOWN HALL
The Start of the main street
The Beautiful tree covered town square, somewhere to sit and ponder.
Tinajo is only a small town despite its importance to the area.
The Church with its sun dial an bell.
Starting from the left of the picture the ally way leads to the local clinic to its right is our local Brewery tap bar and next to that is the Vets. Make of that what you will.
The houses and brick paved road that boarder the Square.
An old house stands about half way up the main street. Not sure if anyone lives there.
As you look back down the street you can see the old house on the right and a row of new buildings on the left, a bar cafe and a Herbalist shop are in there so far.
Turning around to look up the street on the left is another cafe just out of sight, A tire repair and replacement workshop, and on the right at the junction is our local Hardware store.
Walking on up the street and looking back is the local supermarket on the right.
And last but no least a great place to end at the top of the road is our favorite bar Gulliver. Great food and drink.
I cheated a bit here, I had to go back and fetch the car so after some food and drink we could head straight home. I hope this gives you a little flavor of our life here on the Island of Lanzarote, in The canary Islands.
Andy. I absolutely loved your post. Wow, I felt like I was there, right in the town. I love the stark white buildings. Such a contrast againgst the blue sky and green palms. Nice to see there are actually some trees around. Sadly they all have an aversion to flowers and color. If I lived there I would start a campaign to plant flowers everything. Of all colours. Planters and hangers and boxes. They could then call me the flower lady. What do they sell at the herbalist store. That looks intriguing. No people anywhere..very eerie. Great post however and I wish I had more to upvote. SUPA !!!!
Thank you for your very kind coments.
Im glad you enjoyed looking around.
Sorry about the lack of flowers and colourful pots. Water although available is something we have to conserve here so watering gardens and pots of flowers is low on the list. Grapes and Vegetables come first. However in the winter when it rains a little that could be a time to plant flowers. But by all means
Come and help 🌷🌷

yes..of course...I love closed shops on Saturday and also evenings. I wish the western world would stop that nonsense. Toronto is really bad. Halifax not as bad.
Awesome #ulog #walkwithme Andy! I still cannot get over how white everything is there, it just looks so fresh!
Thanks Lyndsay, hope you didn't mind me putting #ulog before #walkwithme
And Yes white is the dominant color here lol x
