Remains of a stately Italianate mansion, razed during WWII, with a restaurant & landscaped gardens.

Hi Steemians ! This is my ulog entry by @surpassinggoogle . :) This is my recent travel in Bacolod . ^^Bacolod The Ruins is one of bacolods historical landmarks. It is a very sunny day at that time and I took good pictures with my phone . It is my first time to travel in Bacolod and by myself. It was really good and I enjoyed it a lot . Such a nice place to visit.

I started traveling alone recently because I am looking for my true self and it is such an adventure to do so. I have met too many good people in Bacolod and even though I am alone I felt very secure because this place is know for The city of smiles. You can always see the people around you smiling and very friendly .

History of The Ruins

The mansion was built in the early 1900’s by the sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson
(1865-1948) and was home to his unmarried children with his first wife, Maria Braga Lacson (+1911), a Portuguese from Macau. The mansion was the largest residential structure ever built at that time and had in it one of the finest furniture, chinaware, and decorative items, as the father of Maria Braga was a captain of a ship that sailed across Europe and Asia and would cart with him these items. One of their daughters maintained a beautiful garden of lilies in and around the
4-tiered fountain fronting the mansion, all brought in from abroad.

Truly, a picture-perfect backdrop and a magnificent sight to see. It is such a great place to visit and relax yourself . I will surely go back to this place again and take a lot of pictures . It is much better to bring someone so that you can take many pictures. Since I am alone I can't take pictures because it's difficult and taking selfie is not that good . :)

Anyway , this is my post for today and hope you enjoy it. Have a great day ahead. :)
