My Seventeenth Ulog Post - Junior Philippine Society Of Mechanical Engineers General Assembly - UCLM Chapter

Earlier at around 3:00 PM an assembly for mechanical engineering was held at the Old AVR on the Annex Building in our university. Majority of the students from each year level from first year to fifth year attended the said assembly.

The program started with an invocation which was led by @neilrichmond a fellow steemian as he sang the song "You raise me up." His soulful voice gave a great impact to the atmosphere of the place as he religiously sang the said piece. After the invocation was the singing of the Philippine national anthem then after that our university's hymn was played.

The main program started with the calling of each year levels' mechanical engineering students. In the assembly, majority of the attendants came from the first year students which was really great since it would really benefit them to hear from their seniors about things in the organization.

Then after that, we had a little activity or an energizer which was to dance following the video presented in front. Not all had joined the energizer but for the ones that had joined, they had fun dancing following the dance video "Dura."

@jenel our classmate and also a fellow steemian at first said that he is shy to dance infront, but after some time as you can see in the photo he's giving his best to show the wonderful talent that he possess. He is a really good dancer and his confidence clearly showed in the end.

After the energizer was the opening speech of our newly elected president. His speech focused on encouraging the freshmen students to do their best so that they can also reach or learn what we have now. He also told about the things that will be discussed in the assembly which would be discussed by various officers of the organization.

After the speech of the newly elected president, the presentation of the newly elected officers took place. Officers from the first year to the fifth year mechanical engineering students were called in front to be acknowledged and to be known by the students so that they could easily approach any of them if they have something to ask about the organization.

After the acknowledging of the officers, the former president of the organization discussed the things about his administration. Things like the breakdown of the membership fee for the organization, the liquidation report of the incoming and the outgoing fund of the organization and the events or the activities that took place last year during his administration.

Next was the discussion of the breakdown of the new membership fee which was discussed by our vice president: membership. She told us about where our money will go, the reason behind the said amount to be paid and the benefits that we will get from paying the membership fee.

Next was the discussion of the upcoming events for the year which was discussed by @annedyosa my classmate and also a steemian. She told us about the things that we should prepare for in the said events.

After the discussion of the events for the year, @jenel since he is a 4th-year representative, he was tasked to discuss the merchandise that the Cebu chapter of mechanical engineering is selling which has discounts for members of the organization. Also, the voting for the mechanical engineering shirt for the second semester took place since they will need to gather results of the majority as to which design will be used.

Lastly, the event ended with a closing speech or remarks from the first year representative of the organization. He gave his best wishes for the 5th year or the graduating students as they will go to their separate endeavors after they graduate. He also wished for a great year ahead and a healthy organization as we enrolled as mechanical engineering students in the university.

After the wonderful remarks from our freshmen representative, the program finally ended. We moved towards the exit and signed our attendance. @keybordjp the one raising his hand, my classmate and also a steemian, showed his joyous actions as we had attended this general assembly.
