#ULOG Day 24: One Down, One to Go!

in #ulog6 years ago

Hello uloggers, celebrities and fans alike!

Today was a busy day for me because today was the eye surgery of my mom. I'll share with you how my day went and I am very excited to share my #ulog today. Hope you guys like it!

Its thrilling to be part of this new movement initiated by our own Sir Terry @surpassinggoogle which started in this link.

First things first, I wanted to thank again the people who helped me make my mom's eye surgery successful. I will never get tired of sending my gratitude to this people --- Sir @henry-gant, my #SDFamily, @leeart, @upfundme and the others who follows my posts and sending their upvotes.

I woke up at 3am today because we will be fetched up at 5am by a carpool provided by the doctor's assistant. Its not a door-to-door pickup but still its within Cavite and its already roundtrip, Cavite-Manila-Cavite. We just had to pay Php200/head for the fare. It was all good rather than having cutting trips going to the hospital and also because the weather is still not good. We are still experiencing heavy rains in Cavite.

This is where the operation took place. It is located in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

We arrived like 630am and there were 6 patients in line for the operation. One by one the patients were called inside the room. I just filled up some paper works for my mom and she was asked to change clothes already, lab gown it is. After some briefing I was asked to get out of the room already. I asked if I could atleast take a picture of my mom inside the room but I was rejected hehe so I just waited outside the operating room. All the 6 patients were already inside waiting in line on the operating table.

I got bored inside so I just went for a walk and took this selfie hehehe

Good thing there was 2 pokestops and 1 gym nearby so I was able to play my pokemon go app hahaha I was a bit nervous because it was taking so long. An hour has already passed and the nurses had yet called any of the companions of the patients. I was already thinking if her blood sugar had interfered the operation or maybe her blood pressure rose or what. Another 30mins had passed and one by one the nurses were already calling the companions for them to fetch the patient and assist them. They also discussed some do's and dont's for the patient.

Success! Her left eye is done. One down, one to go! They were provided with these goggles for eye protection.

Another round of discussion was held at the second floor of the building when all the patients were done. They were all seated there and the doctor's secretary was discussing about the medicine, the lens, and the Philhealth approval. I listened closely so I wont miss a thing, I have to make sure that my mom will have a successful recovery also. Another round of approvals will be sent again to Philhealth for the pre-authorization of her right eye this time. If time permits, she will be scheduled again for the next round of operation after 2 weeks.

This is the lens that I got for my mom. This serves as the warranty card/proof of purchase.

*These are her essentials. The eye drops that we need to use. Dropping must be done after every 4hours and this bottle is estimated to be good for two weeks.

It was a tiring day but it was again worth while. Simple things must not go unappreciated. I thank God for the blessings everyday and I always look forward to another day of challenges. That's it for now fellow #uloggers! I'll see you around!
