We can always give back and we will receive more

A knowledge will not become a wisdom if we will not share it. And so, worldly achievements will never become a blessing unless we give back.

What can be happier than seeing smiles from people you don't know. What can ever be more notable than being a cause of happiness from the people you just met.

This story is about our simple gift-giving program to people of Jared Abuab, San Mateo, Rizal. This was our first time to spearhead such an event. It just came from a mere conversation without knowing we were fulfilling it.

The path towards there was an obstacle. It is far-flung. The road is rocky and winding. It is still muddy and flooded. After a tricycle ride going there, I can feel body aches all over my body. Going there was energy draining. I felt exhausted already. It was a long ride. However, after seeing the smiles and excitement of the people, the pain simply melted away.

It was a worthwhile experience. It was insurmountable. Making others this happy with the little that we are was an achievement to us. We are not rich people. We are not professionals. We are just a group of friends who want to share the blessings we received. No hidden agendas. No show offs. No bait in the middle. It is just pure sharing and giving.

Doing this activity happens mostly during Christmas Season but we can always to do this anytime. As long as the heart dictates it. We only have a few toys for the kids and some food for everyone. We just want to reach out. But we were so blessed. We are touched.

Much to that, we were more blessed by the acceptance and cooperation of the people of JaredAbuab. The simplicity of the people is so marvelous. They are contented and so much grateful for the what we did. It wasn't just the children who were thankful but the adults too. We felt that our efforts were appreciated. We felt accepted.

This was like a glimpse of heaven. It as my first time to host such an event. I was nervous. But the people are so warm that you will just feel at home in a faraway place even if it was just your first time to be there.

We played with the brilliant kids of JaredAbuab while their adults are clapping and cheering with us. The experience was just spontaneous and full of gladness. It was a feeling that can not be explained.
Everyone was having a good time and having a good connection with each other.

All we hear are thank you's not just by the gifts and games we brought but by the mere fact that we went there. JaredAbuab is a remote place and this event doesn't happen all the time. A remember a child who approached me and said, " Kuya buti nagpunta kayo rito kasi nagkaroon kami ng lisensya na maglaro". ( Elder brother, luckily you went here because we got a license to play).

The people are just so organized most especially in the distribution of food. We thought they will be like a mob grabbing toys and food and will ask for more. But they are well-reserved people. Their demeanor was outstanding.

It was midday when we all finished the entire program. It was time to leave and clean their little basketball court. Much to our surprise, the people didn't leave at once. They supported us until the cleaning of the place. As I turn around the basketball court was once again what it was before we started. It was amazing. The people where just cooperative.

As we go down the road and head on to the exit of their place, thank yous were still prevalent as we walk. They guided us until we were able to find a ride towards the town center. The people of JaredAbuab was just awesome people. They are so courteous and hospitable. We were there to give but we receive more than what we shared.
