#ulography: #19- Monochrome Monday - On the Walking Trail
As @actifit participants, we are very much into walking and hiking as part of our daily activity. We just found out about this walking trail thanks to a friend in a nearby town and headed over there for about a 7-mile walk. There are some regular metal benches along the path, but this bench in unique. It was donated by an Eagle Scout as a project for his boy scout troop. It fits in perfectly with is surroundings.
From the parking lot where we started the trail, you start out by crossing over the interstate on this overpass. It was newly built for the express purpose of walkers and bikers.
Once you are over the interstate you head into the woods. They certainly went to a lot of trouble and expense to create all these nice wide concrete paths through the woods. It is relatively cool and shady and they seemed to have taken care to leave the woods as undisturbed as possible. We met several other walkers as well. There are lots of hills, it's not all flat walking. I like this though, it gives you a bit of interval training - some of them are pretty steep.
I did stop to take one photo of a flower (actually a weed, but still with a pretty yellow flower on top!) and I didn't even realize I had caught a dragonfly in the photo as well. Look closely at the top left flower to see him!
We enjoyed this trail and I'm sure we'll be going back for further exploration. I hope you enjoyed the photos!
