#ULOG 13 | BE MOTIVATED: Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone!

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

I read an FB post today about a characteristic of a Frog and how Belle Bickham the author of that post relate it on a specific aspect of our life and I came up with a Motivational post from this story. Below is part of that FB Post:

"Put a frog into a [open] vessel fill with water and start heating the water. As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly. The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jump out. The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. Very soon the frog dies."

"What killed the frog?"

Maybe most of us here will think that the reason why the Frog died is because of the "boiling water", I thought the same when I first read it but then realize that it is not the "Boiling water" that killed the Frog but the "Frog itself" -- the frog has the ability to "Jump out of the vessel" before the boiling point but the frog didn't jump out.

Just like us when we "Stay" on our comfort zones, we don't notice but there is something inside of us that is dying -- the Passion to pursue our Dreams in life, if we will not go out of our comfort zones our Dreams will definitely die! Our Progress will be slow and will soon die, success will be just a "wish" that will never come true, our Goals will be too small that it will not require us to "Improve" in order for us to achieve the bigger Goals in Life, we will not be on the next level of our lives and we will just "watch" other people achieving their dreams instead of us going with them on the next level.

That's the painful truth. Just like the Frog our Dreams, Goals, Targets in life will die slowly -- like killing our Dreams softly by not going out of our comfort zones.

Joshua 1:9 ESV

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and
courageous. Do not be frightened, and do
not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is
with you wherever you go.”

A scenario in the Bible tells us that God is encouraging Joshua to go out of his comfort zone, from being an assistant of Moses to being a Leader (since Moses is dead). He will lead millions of people to go to the other side of the Jordan river and conquer the Land the Lord promised to them, a Land overflowing with Milk and Honey, ISRAEL.

Pressure and Fear is hovering around him since he didn't have any "Leadership" skills and the challenge is that he will lead not just a few people but "Millions" of people, they will also face different nations occupying the "Promised Land". The Lord gave Joshua a promise that HE will be with him, He will not leave him nor forsake him wherever he will go.

Joshua went out of his comfort zone (being a assistant of Moses) and became the Leader of Israel, he together with the Israelites and by the Presence of God with them conquered different nations and occupied ISRAEL.

Don't be afraid to try something new.
Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and achieve things beyond what you can imagine!
