#Ulog of the day 16; Extra Income as a “HABAL-HABAL DRIVER” in the City

Today is so productive day. I work for 12hrs and then after my shift I ride my motorcycle for ”HABAL-HABAL”. Almost everyday after my shift I will be a habal-habal driver in order to pay my others bills like pay parking, gasoline, and food in the office.

”HABAL-HABAL” is a popular way of travelling in many areas in Cebu and not only in Cebu but all over the Philippines especially in provinces.
”Habal-Habal” is a big help to locals usually living in mountainous areas wherein roads are mostly not accessible by 4 wheel vehicles.

But in Cities ”habal-habal” is the only way to prevent traffic because most of the City areas are so crowded or traffic. In Cebu City the rush hours are in the early in the morning most likely at 7:00am to 10:00am and in the afternoon at 4:00pm to 9:00pm. In that rush hour the streets are so busy like if you ride a 4 wheel vehicle you will stock in the traffic for 1 to 3 hours.

That’s why ”habal-habal” is so popular in Cebu City. I only pick up 2 or 3 passengers before I go home, and my earning goes to my parking fee and gasoline. I only earned 50 to 100 pesos as a ”habal-habal driver”. If I only earned 50 pesos that’s okay coz I can pay the 30 pesos parking fee.

”HABAL-HABAL” is my sideline income after my work. I don’t have my own family yet but I worked hard for my family(Parents) because I’m the eldest and as of now I’m the only one working in the family. But soon my brother @s3carlo will help to support the family when he got a work.

Hopefully soon we will escape this poverty in life.
