ULog #5: The Multi-colored Landscape

in #ulog6 years ago

Welcome to the Rockies!

Even when I am not in the best of moods, I can still appreciate my surroundings. Sometimes, being able to enjoy the view clams an otherwise stressful existence. The demands of modern-day life seem to consume our bodies and souls, and everything appears to be on rinse and repeat with no end in sight.

One thing I love about living in the valley near the mountains is that I get to witness several seasons in one glance. It is not uncommon to see snow at the top of the mountain; even in the summer. You see the contrast between the greens and the barren landscape due to altitude.

Similarly, it is also not uncommon to be situated at the edge of two distinct weather patterns. During the summer, torrential rains could be falling out of the sky while the sun continues its relentless scorching. It is one of those times when you actually feel humidity 4500ft (1372m) above sea level.

Another weather-related scene I do not have a current photo for is the transition in and out of winter. Often, there would be mornings where several inches of snow had fell overnight. These snow, then, would melt by the end of the afternoon on the same day.

Since I work graveyard shifts every other week, I always embrace the opportunity to see a sunrise. Well, maybe not as glamourous as seeing it from a peak, but I certainly appreciate seeing the light show near the end of my shift.

I have been brainstorming for new topics to write about. I think I may have them. I am still debating whether or not I should link up my #Ulog posts so I could compile a collection like I do with Abuse Series. Another possible series I want to author could be about games, comics, etc. that are in my collection.

A more ambitious project I want to tackle is something similar to curator on Valve's Steam platform, which publishes game reviews, but I want mine to have a distinct twist in that it will be completely off the mark, but technically true for the product I'm featuring.

So many ideas, so little time.

It's very much a desert. So, come prepared!

I think i am well prepared, would be a good test :D

Ha

so many ideas, so little time

I hear you. I have most of them up in my head and I can't type them up fast enough to stick by the time I get to the computer. I might need to use a recorder or something and upload to YT for the transcript.

You mean, like make an entire @dlive channel devoted to talking about ideas that you'd never actually carry out?

Haha, still sounds like a lot of work.

Wish you win with "ulog" :)

a very nice place to spend some holiday! Lovely

People do come to ski in the winter!

Very picturesque views, you are a happy person to live among such a beauty)

I don't think I appreciate it enough a lot of times. It's easy to dwell in your own darkness while overlooking the good around you.

Great and awesome photography i like your post.

I think a mountain view would be great out the window, I used to like the meadow view we had at one house, now we see trees, some wildlife, but mostly trees But an awesome view of the mountains is just 6 miles down the road.

That does sound really nice. Add a stream and you'd have everything!

Actually we have one river oh about a mile away, with boat launch, camping and bathroom facilities, and good salmon and trout fishing, but I no longer fish. Still it is a nice place to take pictures and the fishing is not as wild as the other river about 20 miles away.
