#ulog, what is it? And a suggestion to Terry.

Ok for months now, I have been seeing lots of ulog posts in my feed. @surpassinggoogle does a lot of resteeming doesn't he. After seeing hundreds in my feed month after month, I finally decided to check it out.

As you may or may not already know, ulog is another concoction made by SG. Prior to this was his untalented singing contest. I did not join that one after seeing heaps of not so untalented individuals. Yeah, some of them could sing the phone book.

And before untalented was teardrop. Where, correct me if I am wrong, people write sad stories about themselves. I didn't have anything sad to write about so I said pass.

Ulog

Now we have ulog. To my understanding, it is a story of you, hence the U in ulog. Basically a story of your life, like what you did that day or who you did, ha! I joke, I joke. Gotta lighten up the mood.

It's like a diary, your story, you are the star.

From @surpassinggoogle's post.

Ulogs are simply steemit posts containing logs of YOU, whether it be Vlogs, picture moments, stories, plain text write-ups or a combination of all forms of media etc. Any steemit posts that records your daily activities; celebrating "YOU" and life.

This is great because anyone can write about themselves and you will never run out of subjects to write about. Unless you are a rock. Even if you were a rock you can write about that guy that peed on you today. See, anyone and anything can do a ulog.

You don't have to write like Shakespeare to do a ulog. Or have the vocabulary of a dictionary. I guess what matters is that you get your story across, no matter how simple it is.

In my opinion, the simpler the better. Heavy, deep, complicated words are hard to understand for some, if not, most people. Ever tried reading Shakespeare? Traumatic experience reading Hamlet. Ok, maybe Shakespeare is a little too much but U know what I mean.

A suggestion to @surpassinggoogle

I have been pretty much writing about my travels and food throughout my journey on Steem. My aim was to rank in Google search by targeting keywords. Doing so can get Steemit some more exposure, similar to Reddit.

Reddit gets rank by its interaction. An author would post a question, simple question, about 100 words or less and people would comment their answers or more questions. This will lead to a long discussion and signals Google's search algorithm that this is what people are searching for.

My suggestion is if maybe you can use your huge influence for people to write about their expertise. An example would be an accountant explaining about debit and credit. A photographer explaining the impact of light on photographs. An SEO specialist revealing the secrets of ranking high in Google search.

Even if you are not an expert on something, as long as you know more than the next guy, you can write about anything. You think those guys with 'how to make money' blogs were experts. They learned along the way and made money.

Hopefully people have a discussion instead of just a one sentence compliment. The goal is to outrank all other blog platforms, making Steemit, surpass Google. See what I did there.
