ULOG: #6 (12 July 2018) Making My Own Ice Candy with Jackfruit Flavor

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

Since yesterday I've been planning of making ice candy. The temperature in Abudhabi is unbearably hot, so it seemed like a perfect time to make some fruit based ice candy with the jackfruit that i have at home. Since its my off tomorrow I would take a try to make a creamer ice candy.

To those who are clueless, Ice Candy is the Filipinos version of popsicle but instead of freezing the flavoured liquid around a stick, the concoction is funneled into plastic casings which are handy for on-the-go enjoyment.

I remember when I was a kid I enjoy having chocolate ice candy. Every kid loves chocolate flavor, this flavor is usually made of Cocoa or Milo powder.

Yummy Ice Candy

To cut open a jackfruit. Its very important to apply oil on hands and knife to prevent sap from sticking to your hands and knife, but I prefer to use gloves. Then extract bulbs and remove seeds.

Slicing Jackfruit

The preparation is just easy and simple. Just blend in a food blender the jackfruit, brown sugar (instead of condensed milk), fresh milk. Add little water so that the mixture is not too thick. Pour into little plastic ice candy bags and knot them firmly and place in the freezer for overnight.

Simple Procedure

And by tomorrow my ice candy should be ready. I would definitely share some to my friends. It would be creamy, sweet and with Langka (jackfruit) essence. This is the best idea to beat the heat and very refreshing too. Can't wait for tomorrow. Yummy and fantastic.

After 3 hours in the freezer

This is my ulog for today. Thank you for reading. Xoxo.

Hello.😊

Wow!!! I miss a lot how my Nanay make this and a chocolate/mango flavor. These cool ice candies are the best to lessen the hot temperature when summer. Thank you for sharing this cool post...

Wow it's looks delicious I am craving ice candy for now hope i can make the same.

You can but you will use big plastic. You can't find small plastic for ice candy in Abudhabi, only in the Philippines. Ha ha ha.

It sure sounds and looks delicious ... Hope you enjoyed it much!
