Ulog #035 : The Anticipation of a 250kph Typhoon named Ompong September 14th 2018
Today is the expected ETA of Typhoon Ompong, a high intesity, low-moving and wide-area encompassing typhoon where the direction is straight to us in the Northern Philippines, with the eye of the typhoon targeting the northernest part of the country, Batanes.
We can only hope and pray for a good aftermath as right now, the wind is either howling or whistling outside, roof banging, the outline of the trees swaying and in the last hour, i have lost count on how many times the hospital we are in have lost power. Although its' generator has only been taking a second to take-over, the last one took ages to take effect.
What i want to share though were the happenings in our neighbourhood as they prepare for the typhoon's havoc.
In pictures:
Arriving to our house for a short visit from the hospital, this scene welcomed me as we entered our backyard. Of course I had to run to capture their moments of gathering their grains from further drying from the sun. Although the sun was up earlier in the morning, it started to get dimmer as the day progressed.
Speaking to the owner, these rice grains re not ready to go to the mill, needing at least 2 days more under the sun. With the typhoon arriving, plus the possible flooding during and after, the probability of another week of waiting is needed before these grains will see the sun again. At least now they're dry to be kept.

Having not seen anything like this before, it's a bit enlightening and amusing to learn what it was made of. Of course, it is selective on where it can be used but yeah, utilising nature is the best and underrated.

Thank you. Little rain but with so strong wind..ruining a lot on its' way. There's no signal on tv so the extent we have no idea.
I hope it passes by without too much damage @immarojas. Be safe! 💙
