ULOG Day 6: A Hot Ramen For Today's Weather Forecast
Today's weather forecast was said to be rainy due to a typhoon within the country's area of responsibility. It rained for a bit but the sun shone so bright after and it didn't rain again the whole day. Because of the rain, despite it being short-lived, I and my friend decided to eat Ramen for lunch to feel some warmth in the cold breeze of the weather.
The friend I was eating with is currently going through some struggles in his life. I better not share anything much about it but most of my friends do ask my advice and opinion when they go through difficult times or when they have to make decisions in their life that will matter.
As we talked over Ramen, I made my friend realize that nobody is in control over the circumstances and events around him. No one can accurately predict nor manipulate what will happen and what should happen. What can someone be of total control though is his/her reaction on that event in his/her life. It is definitely just like the weather. It's cold and it isn't something we are in control of nor something we chose, but eating Ramen to make ourselves feel better and feel warm was totally our choice. With the Ramen, we didn't dread the fact that it was raining, though we couldn't go to the place we originally wanted to eat because of the rain. With the Ramen, we enjoyed our lunch despite not being able to eat the food that was originally in our minds. These come to show that what we feel and how we manage our feeling are something we have great control on more than external factors and if we just choose to get better, we will be better.
