#Ulog 017: My Experience of Working Night Shift Mode

I am glad to be here again in my journal to share everyone how life is great and awesome.

Well, here in my 17th writing for the #ulog of sir @surpassinggoogle I experienced how it feels to be in a night shift mode.

Due to time constraints and busy schedule, shiftyard are highly recommended for all admin staffs. From 1pm to 7am will be the schedule of the night shift.
I was assigned during tuesday and on the following day it is already a non working because of the 16th hours policy.

How it feels working at night?

Once you are doing night shifts on a permanent basis, your body clocks sort of adjusts. You let the night as your working hours while the day is your sleeping time. Yes, it is not a normal thing to do unless your a call center agent. At the 7-11pm you are still alivr and kicking while doing office works and responsibilities. At 12midnight you can feel sleepy but you will feel hungry and look something to eat.

At 1am, how am I doing? Super sleepy need to nap for a while or for 10 minutes to chill the mind and body.

2am-4am, the sleepy head now became active maybe because I drink an instant coffee after dinner.

Is it healthy to work night shift?

Based on studies, working in a long term night shift is prone to diseases, body disorder as well as metabolic problems, heart diseases, ulcers and obesity. Obviously, it is bad for the health and body. The BWH studies showed that a combination of insufficient sleep and sleep patterns that disagree with our body's biological clock may lead to an increased risk of Type 2 diabetes.

Conclusion: Well, not a good experience. It upsets the entire system like biological clock in one way and when yiu make sudden changes your body finds it difficult to adapt. The consequence could be problems with the digestive systems, lack of sleep, headaches and irritability. Actually, I can't really sleep well during morning maybe because your body cant adopt the time yet. I dont know how the call center agent or working in BPO industry can handle with it where infact my night shift sched is only once a week. Maybe it is all about salary because bpo offering higher salary than a normal day works. The evidenfe is clear that getting enough sleep is important for health, and that sleep should be at night for the best results.
