Ulog #88 Wonderful and sad day. Tears mixed with joy

LITV) But Jesus said, “Allow the little children and do not prevent them to come to Me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.”

My day started very early. Coffee and prayer.

Then a ride into the mountains. I got tied up helping my son with his homework, so I didn’t get out as early as usual. But later in the morning the opportunity to take photographs of the sun reflecting in the bay below presents a unique photograph.

As most of you know, my wife and I are full time missionaries in the Philippines. A new door to share the Gospel has been opened to us, beyond what we are already doing. This door represents 15,000 new people in groups of 25 to 250.

Today was the first day and 100 % of these students responded to the message and asked Jesus to save their soul. Many tears and much repentance and a beautiful sight. I am so thankful to be part of this.

We already minister to drug surrenders, prison ministry, hospital ministry and evangelistic outreaches, including, the police and government officials.

The sad part was to hear what these young people are facing as normal life. Broken homes, drunken and abusive parents and living in fear. Each one asked for individual prayer and I prayed and cried with each one.

This is the specialty of Jesus! Broken lives and making something beautiful out of a mess. It is one thing to reap results of our own actions and decisions, but to suffer at the hands of those who were meant to protect us and nurture us. Many times our decisions and actions affect the littles ones.

Even though many of these were teens, I would have loved to take them home and care for them.

Our team today ministered to 250 young people. Tomorrow I will bring 250 Old and New Testament Bibles to give to them. Most that we spoke to had no bible in their household.

Monday night is my usual meeting with local pastors. Instead I am home with my family. Thinking of the events today. Shaken, sad, optimistic and prayerful.

This is not all of our group, but all that wanted the photo op.
In my heart and mind after this time of ministry, based on their response.

Is it possible that we could win an entire generation to Christ?

My thoughts and Ulog or thoughtlog from the Philippines.

One shot I took of the sky at the end of the day.
