Yet Each Man Kills The Things He Loves | #ULog

Last night I was having a conversation with one of my dearest friend over cups of coffees and a great view. We've had a roller-coaster kind of conversation. Our topic was so random that if you were there listening, you'll never get by.


As the night progresses, we find ourselves exchanging stories from the time our hearts was still whole.

There was trepidation on my side especially when my past was being brushed, but I must admit a conversation with good person who listens and never judges was truly a breath of fresh air.

As we continue to reminisce our past—on why we are in so much pain after all these years—we come-up with a lot of realizations, focusing mainly on the real reason why almost everyone gets hurt.

You see, you're hurting not just because we've loved and wasn't loved in return.
not just because we've given so much effort and it goes unrecognized.
And definitely, it's not just because we've invested a remarkably amount of time and ended up not being together.

After our long conversation we presume that the pain we’re carrying, more often than not was caused by Betrayal;
And it could be in a manner where You could be betraying Someone, Someone betraying You or You betraying Yourself.

You may think that your relationships might have the sturdiest foundation, but the truth is, all that you have are just promises— you are holding on to oh-so-sweet-promises—and in a snap someone’s going to break it.


If it happens, Voila! you've lost everything you taught you had.

That's just one basic example of betrayal showing off through great pain.


Talking about pain? Please try not fight it , there's no point. Read this: YOU COULD NEVER HURT ENOUGH. You can't numb the pain, it will just continuously, sadistically hurt you—radiating in every inch of your body.

For whatever reason, you can't speak about it, so you'll hide and won't show any sign. You'll turn into a hybrid of human and machine, you'll do everything to cover the pain, you’ll busy yourself with stuff you've never done before, you'll keep moving and you won't stop wandering.

The new you will make a pact with your old self. Over and over you’ll say that this time you'd never expose your soul, and you'd never split open your heart again.

But who are you kidding? You'll never get enough betrayals from others and from yourself.

Truly betrayal was never easy to handle. If you're lucky enough to release your hatred, rage and disappointment then you'll be free and you would be capable once again to ignite and ablaze the fire of starting over.

But more often than not, it is a trap that would make you cruel.


Cruel, because nothing, not even a word can be of comfort. It would cause you so much misery, torment and death. It would be too scary and you'd be drowned by fear and doubt.

But let me tell you a secret; After enduring all these unimaginable torture, I found myself trying to understand.

After all that has been done I still put my hands over the ear of my heart so that I will not truly hate this person I loved.
