ULOG: #7 To all stay at home mommas!

Hi steemians! Hope you are all having great day!

Let me start by sharing my thoughts about being a “Stay at home mom”.

Yes, I’m a stay at home mom (not by choice at first) but to be honest I’m not complaining. I love being a mother and a housewife. I feel full filled getting the house chores done everyday. I get to spend more time with my kids and watch them grow up. I can cook anytime, baking, do crafts, diys, read a book, watch tv shows etc. —more time to myself! What more could I ask? It’s a win-win!

But it’s not all fun, sometimes it can be really tiring and frustrating —of the same routine everyday! Life isn’t perfect, some days are good and some days are just as bad.

I use to be jealous of my friends who are now professionals, one of them told me to get a job instead of being a ’stay at home mom’ —that it isn’t a career! I know, sounds harsh but it’s her opinion. Somehow, I felt bad about it, it created a strong impact to me. I was thinking that maybe I wasn’t doing anything with my life! I felt worthless! I was insecure that they have a successful life and I don’t.

One day my husband made me realize my worth without noticing it. He asked me about how I cook our dinner that day. How did I maintain the house clean? How I can put up with the wining and yelling of our kids? How did I have time for everything?

He looked at me and said,

”Just because you don’t work and earning money, it doesn’t mean you’re worthless.
Success doesn’t require a title.”

He also said,

”It is his duty as my husband to provide for our family and for me to take of the rest.”*

He made sure I understand that it’s a teamwork. He can’t do everything by himself that he needed my support.

He also quoted,

”We’re in this partnership! And there’s no expiration date.”

We see to it that we give and take in everything! We always have each others back. We help each grow together —for me this is success! Success comes in different ways, just believe in yourself and make yourself useful.

Now, I no longer feel insecure about myself. I’m thankful and I’m loving my job even more. So to all the mommas out there who are just like me —embrace being a stay at home mom, be proud and own it!
