BAREFOOT WALKING - AWARENESS & EXPLORATION - DAY 11 of 21 DAY CHALLENGE
Walk Barefoot everyday for 21 days and report your finding's. This is how this challenge came about for me. It was a simple thing for me to incorporate into my day. Since walking has already been mostly a part of my everyday living - it was simply a matter of challenging myself to take off my footwear more often and to be comfortable in moving about in a 'barefoot naked' type of way.
It's still funny the looks you get sometimes in public places - it's a look at times...where it's like the face is saying to you, hey don't you know you're suppose to be wearing footwear'....and or.....what you're just walking around like you own the place....or wow look at that dude he has no shoes on and he's crossing the street.
Obviously in many parts of the world...being barefoot is quite common. It is not so common in the developed first world. It's more common in the developed first world countries for a person to have so many different pieces of footwear....especially so it seems if you are a women....though I do know a number of dudes who got quite a few pair of kicks.
Nothing wrong with foot wear per se...really just exploring the possibilities of not being so reliant on the need for footwear. In this moment I am thinking about every flight or greyhound bus I've taken...and how pretty much every single time - the first move for me upon sitting down was getting the footwear off....not wanting to wear the footwear if I don't have to. A couple times over the years I had sneakers on without socks...and frankly my shoes smelt bad...and it was a point of like ohh I must keep these shoes on out of respect for containing the odor. I do enjoy the breathe-ability of barefooting that is for sure.
Today was the longest barefoot excursion I've done to date....ended up cruising with the dog for about 3 hours early this morning...and I ended up freestyling this really cool route to the beach! Reminded me of being a little kid exploring different ways and possibilities....like what if I go this way...what if I cut through here....what if I go across that. Haha. It was fun.
The barefooting has given me a new appreciation for grass and lawns...it reminds me of my big mountain skiing days of scouting out lines....where today it was like..oh man look at that stretch of grass that goes on and on and on If you ride up beside the apartment complexes...you can go for blocks and blocks without much pavement action...and there's a whole bunch of up and down hill action.!

My kids are still able to go to school with no shoes in the summer, so they do! Living on a farm, we often go barefoot, but my feet are so soft! I cant run around like the kids do. Tried playing a game of touch rugby barefoot and paid the price LOL

ya -it's a definite adjustment in getting back to basics like a kid...I've definitely seen quite a bit of a scale increase in terms of the toughness of my feet....still feel like I got a lot of room for improvement.

I use to play rugby in highschool - I was the hooker - loved calling out plays on the throw in's...I would chirp the other team so hard every time I did a throw in lololol - totally forgot about all that chirping in being the hooker - haha - good times.
LOL yes it was interesting how you had those that chirped, those hat got aggressive, those that were chilled.....we all had our parts to play!
I will keep working those soles!
