ULOG: A Satisfying Visit to a Government Office
I used to shun going to a government office. Because for me it means wasting lots of time waiting to be served by proud, insensitive and weary-looking government employees.
But that changed dramatically with my visit to DOH Region I in San Fernando, La Union.
Off to my Destination
I was glad that hubby drove me all the way to San Fernando that I didn't have to commute by myself. Plus travel time was cut in half. It only took us one hour or so to arrive.
Greeted with a smile
I was hesitant to park the car inside the premises, since well the gate was closed. But the security guard on duty welcomed us with a smile, opened the gate and directed us to where we should park the car.
I was asked what my concern for the visit was and they gave me a visitors ID in exchange for my ID as a security.
Lost, they were very friendly at giving directions and even wanted to accompany me to where I should go. But I hesitated to his volunteering spirit for fear that his post be left unattended.
I followed the direction, which was not really hard to follow. At the end of the path, Building E.
There, found it RLED-DOH.
RLED actually stands for Regulations, Licensing and Enforcement Division of Department of Health.
Entered the building, and there again I was welcomed with a smile. They were more than happy to assist me.
They got my papers, reviewed and waited a bit. In fact they even asked me if I wanted coffee or whatever. I declined their offer and asked me to just help myself. Aren't they sweet?
Customer Satisfaction Survey
I didn't wait long. Funny, I feel quite dismayed since I already prepared myself to be waiting till the end of time. I told myself that I will just be Steeming while waiting just so I won't be bored. But I didn't get that chance. Lol.
Before leaving, I was given a sheet of paper to fill up only if I wanted to but they said they would very much appreciate it I would.
With the treatment I received, as a gesture of appreciation, didn't think twice filling it up.
I do not want to be cynical on the point that everything was for the show just so they would have high satisfaction rating. But I guess that survey is a good motivation for the employees to be friendlier.
Finally
I got what I wanted -- that paper with a golden seal. My very own Operational Permit!
In conclusion, this was a satisfying visit to a government office. Besides, they do "care about my satisfaction". Thumbs-up!
