Make a new BRAND? and redirect STEEMIT.COM/* to a new domain?

Most people do not know the difference between the steemit.com website, the company Steemit INC and the Network/Blockchain "Steem".

If @ned agrees, I think it would be smart to create a brand new name and redirect old steemit.com URLs over to a brand new domain name URLs.

I know the difference of course, I am an OG Mini-Whale who guard my companies investment into STEEM like an eagle. It is all the others, all those that do not pay attention, thinking that Steem(it) either is a website or a game-system..

To Step up the game, "killer apps" needs to be made to show off the blockchain and benchmark the competitors.

If @steemit inc agrees, throw in an educational video about the STEEM network/STEEM blockchain and what you can build on top of such a network, like NewDomain.com (originally steemit.coom), busy.org, steemmonsters.com, steemspeak.com/super social network wallet (The Curiosity bot) and other things if we ever going to get peoples attention on this matter, a name-change and redirect to new domain will do the trick, and you can always put it back to steemit.com again if you want later once all our users have been heavily educated.

Ned Scott has a plan, and it is much bigger than the steemit.com website you probably are reading this article on.

@Ned Scott, my trusted CEO of Steemit Inc, the company who owns a large piece of the Steem Blockchain Tokens from mining, and of course steemit.com the website. He said on @SteemFest that steemit.com will continue to not be prioritized. (It works fine the way it works, and serve us all well as one example of what STEEM can be used for.

So Steemit.com is not going to be prioritized, what does that mean and why?

Steemit Inc, the company has spent a lot of their own resources/money to build the network infrastructure which is Hardfork 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.....20.6 And what is it that 20.6 does? Well, that is what @Ned will show you in his new company which will focus solemnly on building applications.

Think of STEEM as Windows, Linux or Apple Operating system, and Steemit.com as Solitary.

Just like all the other operating systems can do much more than playing Solitary, and that is what @Ned wants to do next, he wants to build the "Office Pack" the "Dos4gw protected mode", lemmings, worms, command & conquer, Creative Soundblasters with Waveblaster attached, Kings Quest 4, Visma/mamut economy, and Leisure suit Larry.

The time has come to show what the STEEM Operating System is really made of, and what its blockchain can REALLY do!

By keeping steemit.com the way it is, was an unpopular idea, because many, maybe even all of us have a hope to see the new awesome blockchain features being used on the trusted website steemit.com. I am probably one of the last people who dared to use SteemConnect on a 3rd party website (because the Internet is full of scammers and liars) that did not look too sketchy.

You have seen "nothing" yet

I believe the best is yet to come, and believe none of us has seen anything yet, people around here imitate more than they innovate. MinnowBooster took the name of my @Booster and just added Minnow in front of it... And @SteemPeak just removed the S from my almost 3 year old @SteemSpeak discord. A unique 24/7 staffed and unbroken Voice-Chat were we on neutral ground and with freedom to speak about anything in relation to STEEM has for this amount of time been an institution for important cross roads, AMAs and interviews thanks to our strict "Do not Bullshit Us" protocol, we get to speak with everyone or their representatives. One of the most important information-hubs outside of the steem network.

Why must all good things in STEEM become even better?

shoutout to @dsound, maybe we can make @SteemSpeak different if we worked together on a Steem-based VoIp project?

With 6,000 active discord members we use peer pressure to bring facts to the table when there has been splitting situations, this is how we have been able to avoid FUD, and ScamCoins for all these years, even if it makes us enemies by the rejected ones (we have a very high tolerance for free speech, however, sometimes people have been speaking for too long or wasted our time with non serious trolling. Most of us in @teamgood agree that blogging is just mental masturbation, and while it has its uses, the transaction rate of the Steem blockchain can be used for soooo much more.

  • Gaming - @chibera seems to be leading the way with this so far. And @steemmonsters though my admittedly limited understanding of it doesn't seem to indicate that it's really gonna benchmark the blockchain's capabilities. @spl is also a great example which, while mostly funded through upvotes and donations, is otherwise independent of steemit.com.

  • Marketplaces - @dstors is fairly new, the brainchild of @derangedvisions and others, and is a fantastic idea.

  • Podcasting - To a lesser extent, in my opinion. Lots of folks are doing this, which if there's a streaming app that utilizes the Steem blockchain and isn't gonna use @ned's 2 million SP delegation to take the money and run, would make us independent from Twitch and Youtube and others.

I would also add that Steemit is a blogging platform, not a social media platform, and I wonder why it doesn't have a chat or direct message feature. Rocket Chat is open-source. Couldn't something similar to steem.chat be integrated directly into the blockchain's blogging front-ends, thus making it more of a social media platform? Is it even worth doing so?

A digital "contract" for artisans and creators to commission, license, and curate their work. Kinda like this one I built for my website, on Google Forms, but work on the Blockchain. Maybe in this digital pact, its execution creates a passive income stream automatically (in the form of some kind of automaton) to "fund" the assets from the project over time, by ability for either party to retroactively mine stake on future citations to either effect its material value, in say, manufactured (or 3-D printed) products, and other means of physical publications.

I don't know the legal constraints, moreover the importance of sourcing information correctly, for creators to indefinitely keep their credit due onward. Someone help flesh this out some sense, please?

I wanna apologize for what will be a sorta long section of text. But it describes an issue and a solution to that issue that I think might be worth exploring

I fully, 100% support redirecting users from Steemit to another, better service, as to enforce that Steem and Steemit are separate things! The amount of confusion and misinformation out on the wider webs about Steem is kinda sad to be honest... Even searching on Wikipedia for Steem brings up the Steemit page instead, and to make matters worse the Steemit article on there makes absolutely no references to the fact that Steem and Steemit are different. I tried to rectify this situation in fact. I wrote a nice, long, cited, and detailed wiki page for Steem, and I made sure to make it clear that Steem and Steemit are separate. Of course, Wikipedia being who they are, made it clear that Steem wasn't "notable" enough. Proof:

Oh and, fun tip, because there weren't any sources on a mainstream media site talking about Steem, they wouldn't allow it to exist on the site. Because as an admin told me:

So yeah, an article about Steem can't exist on Wikipedia because an MSM source such as Forbes or the Washington Post hasn't written about it. And yes, I have been blocked for a couple of days for trying to fix blatant information errors on both Steem and Steemit... Fun Times!

I will mention that once my account is approved, I will add the same Steem wiki page I wrote to InfoGalactic, where the Wikipedia issues don't apply and where pages such as that are actually appreciated. Here's what it will look like, as this is exactly how it looked on Wikipedia before it got taken down:

This is where my idea for a solution comes in. While I like InfoGalactic, and I think the idea behind it is decently solid, the admins of it worry me a bit... Plus, there's still an issue of incentivizing good/accurate content over fake/bad content. This is where an idea hit me while fuming over the Wikipedia Admin's being stupid. Why not have a Wikipedia-style online encyclopedia that used the Steem blockchain to allow users to upvote content that is accurate and well written, and downvote content that isn't! Users could be rewarded for making good contributions and edits, while also insuring that content is judged not be an elite few admins, but by the whole community. It would also insure a more decentralized platform than what InfoGalactic, and most certainly Wikipedia, offers currently. And using Steem to reward good/accurate writing, and financially punishing those who don't write that, hopefully ideological bias could be mostly removed from articles, or at least incentivize people to show both sides of an argument.

I think it's a potentially incredible idea that could revolutionize online knowledge sharing. But I could also just still be resentful of Wikipedia. I don't know, but I'd love to hear what you, and the rest of the Steem community, think of this idea!
