The sacred power and authority of Women - I AM grateful to honour

An indigenous elder once told me that only a woman can start a heart.  Men can only re-start hearts.  Women are also the only way that a spirit can manifest into this physical realm.  To do so requires that spirit join its vessel, which is being developed and manifesting within the womb; a portal between the spiritual and physical realms.  I believe that it is this sacred ability, authority and privilege that has prompted men to try and control women through conquest, violence, intimidation, fear and envy for far too long.  As a result, women have been the target of the most brutal oppression.

In the indigenous culture, women are the title holders to the land.  They are the highest authority and they choose a man to stand up to be the voice of that authority.  They call him chief, but he is not the authority or power.  The women are responsible to ensure the land, water, air, plants and animals are protected.  They protect that which is sacred and they have been telling us for generations that the colonial systems violate their sacred laws.  They depend on us men to help them with that responsibility!  If we truly honour and respect the women, we would be FULLY engaged in helping to protect Mother Earth as well.  

They depend on Mother Earth to provide all that is required in order to ensure good health and sacred space to allow spiritual beings to join us here in this realm.  When Creator started the process he started a process that only women can continue.

 God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  - Gen 2:7

Women consume nutrients and water from Mother Earth and put them together inside the womb for the body of the vessel.  They breath the air that provides life as they continue the role given to them by Creator.  It is not men's job to try and control or govern this sacred power and authority.  Instead, it is our responsibility to protect, provide, cherish and love.

My vessel came from the land upon which my own mother gathered nutrients from in order to build it.  She started my heart and for that I am grateful.  As everything in the physical realm is manifested from Spirit, I must recognize that the land is me.  I AM the land and my relationship with Mother Earth and mothers all around the world is much different now than it was 20 years ago.

To live a life of peace requires non-violence.  I see women as being sacred and I work very hard to respect that sacred capacity to create as well.  It has been a long, hard lesson for me.  But I am slowly learning it and I challenge everyone to contemplate their relationship with the divine feminine and her role that she has on this planet.  

On this day called 'Mothers Day', the one day of the year where the colonial system recognizes women, I write this post to express an idea that I work hard to honour EVERY DAY of my life.  It matters not if my friends had babies or not.  They are sacred portals and they hold an authority and power that I don't have.  I honour them rather than attempt to take or control that power for myself.
