There is a legend that a certain Parisian fortune-teller predicted to the Russian Emperor Alexander the Second that he could survive six attempts and die from the seventh, calling even the date - 1881. The meeting with the fortune-teller took place in Paris in 1867, where the second attempt was made against the Russian ruler. Alas,
all this happened: Alexander was killed on March 1, 1881. Moreover, it was the seventh attempt to kill the emperor.

The first attempt on Alexander the Liberator occurred April 4, 1866 at the gates of the Summer Garden. The Emperor made his usual walk. Suddenly, a shot rang out. The criminal was Dmitry Karakozov, a former student,
excluded first from Kazan, then from Moscow University. A certain bourgeois Osip Komissarov, who hit Karakozov on the arm during the shot, prevented him.

May 25, 1867 Anton Berezovsky, a native of Volyn province, shot at the emperor in Paris. True, the shooter from Berezovsky was unimportant - Alexander, who was riding in an open carriage,
not injured. Two bullets hit the horse, passing by the staff master. In addition, the gun ripped in the hands of the terrorist, seriously injuring his hand.

The third attempt was committed in 12 years - April 2, 1879. Rural teacher Alexander Solovyov, having met the emperor at the Winter Palace, snatched up his revolver and opened fire. King,
well familiar with the art of war, ran from him in zigzags. This saved the life of the ruler, only the greatcoat was shot through.

In November of the same year 1879, the terrorists staged another hunt for the tsar, blowing up the canvas on the Moscow-Kursk railway, where the royal train was passing at that moment. But fate was supportive of Alexander.
The criminals were aware that the first with the luggage, and then - the train of the emperor. It was the second train that they blew up. Wrong - the king was in the first.

Several months passed and a new attempt was made. This time in the Winter Palace itself. Narodovolets Stepan Khalturin settled there to work as a simple carpenter.
He was transported to small quantities in Winter explosives. Collecting more than three poods, Khalturin laid the charge under the royal dining room. From the explosion, 11 soldiers were killed from the guard, more than 50 were wounded. And the king for dinner was late - he met the Prince of Hesse.

The last two attempts were made on the same day - March 1, 1881.
The emperor was returning from the ceremony of the divorce of the royal guard. An explosion occurred on the embankment of the Catherine Canal near the carriage. The bomb was thrown by Nikolai Rysakov, a philistine, a native of Novgorod province. The Tsar did not suffer, but he left the carriage to see the criminal himself. I managed to make only a few steps.
Terrorist Ignaty Grinevitsky threw another bomb right under the king's feet. The bloodied emperor managed to be delivered to the Winter Palace, where he died in just a few minutes. The seventh attempt, in fact, was fatal.
