Project Details

Node.js is not a programming language but could be considered as a JavaScript programming framework, although in reality, the definition of a framework is not entirely appropriate, as Node.js could be confused with an environment to create a particular type of applications. To be precise, Node.js is a framework/platform for running JavaScript applications
We therefore say that the most appropriate definition would be that of "platform for the execution of JavaScript applications", as we find written on the home page of the official website; in practice, it is a JavaScript run-time, therefore a motor for the execution of JavaScript code.

Introduction

I'm glad that on Node.js I have the chance to start a file from scratch and working to complete its translation: in my previous project instead, there were many files partially translated by other users that had just some scatter word or sentence to render and this sometimes need more time and makes your work unpleasant and confused.
As I have already explained, the whole Italian team is working on Node.js and we are processing all the first folder (API) files, following the descending order as much as possible, to give a better translation.

Contribution Specifications

This contribution is related to the second part of vm.md folder: just in the last few lines, I found the most important assertions of the whole file.
Yes, I'm talking about this:

"What does it mean to "contextify" an object?"

Why should one decide to explain the meaning of the main topic of this 4000 words session in the very last sentences? Wouldn't it be better to write it at the beginning??
Next time I will check the entire file before starting.
Anyway, I've learned that

the process of creating the V8 Context and associating it with the sandbox object is what this document refers to as "contextifying" the sandbox.

Last but not least...

From March 28th to April 2nd I processed more than 2100 words, but I have to count around 1400 clear words because of some repeated periods I will show you below.

Translation Overview

1. Duplicates (repeated few times)

  • filename {string} Specifies the filename used in stack traces produced by this script.
  • lineOffset {number} Specifies the line number offset that is displayed in stack traces produced by this script.
  • columnOffset {number} Specifies the column number offset that is displayed in stack traces produced by this script.
  • displayErrors {boolean} When true, if an [Error][] error occurs while compiling the code, the line of code causing the error is attached to the stack trace.
  • timeout {number} Specifies the number of milliseconds to execute code before terminating execution. If execution is terminated, an [Error][] will be thrown.

2. script.runInNewContext([sandbox[, options]])

First contextifies the given sandbox, runs the compiled code contained by the vm.Script object within the created sandbox, and returns the result. Running code does not have access to local scope.
The following example compiles code that sets a global variable, then executes the code multiple times in different contexts. The globals are set on and contained within each individual sandbox.

3. Example: Running an HTTP Server within a VM

When using either [script.runInThisContext()][] or [vm.runInThisContext()][], the code is executed within the current V8 global context. The code passed to this VM context will have its own isolated scope.
In order to run a simple web server using the http module the code passed to the context must either call require('http') on its own, or have a reference to the http module passed to it.

Hi @akireuna!

Congratulations and thank you for another great contribution. Your translation was very good, as usual, and with very few mistakes.
Please note that you missed a small typo on a recurring string, which ended up “copying” to all other translations of that string but which I counted as a single mistake. Also, some strings I changed I didn’t count as mistakes: the translation was good and readable, I merely changed them out of personal preference for a different syntax.
