Gridcoin (an open-source blockchain) is an exciting project which mints and distributes cryptocurrency to reward users who 'donate' their unused processing resources towards data-driven research and scientific discovery. The project is currently secured through a proof-of stake protocol. I love the idea to make use of something that would normally be 'wasted', like not throwing away perfectly good food but instead creating a good leftover lunch!

So far I've translated a bit more than 1000 words out of the 2700 total. It will be a short but sweet project to work on: the information in the whitepaper is precise and clear, which makes it fun to read and translate. I'll be done before the end of this week and probably start contributing some of my own computational resources to the project myself!

I love working on new 'fresh' projects, and I can see that you do too. There is also a learning curve in this (as with most projects) and I agree: it's great to see projects like this one come up on the blockchain and I sure hope we'll hear a lot more from them.
