This is a weekly, semi-automated post where I will show some statistics and graphs of the development category. It will also serve as a showcase for the staff picks and task requests that were made in the current week. If you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see in this post, then please let me know!

Staff pick(s)

Developing the new Utopian bot by @amosbastian

It's a bit embarrassing, since this is my own contribution, but I thought I'd include it anyway since it technically is a staff pick for the development category. It's a post about the new Utopian bot, which will handle the upvoting of all contributions - if you are interested in knowing more about its behaviour, then I recommend you go check it out (questions about it are more than welcome)!

Category summary

  • There were 28 contributions of which 27 have a chance of being rewarded, or have already been rewarded.
  • The average score was 65.6 with an average reward of 83.9 STU from Utopian.
  • The total reward from Utopian for development contributions this week (so far) is 754.7 STU.
  • There were a total of 28 unique contributors in the category. Of those 6 were new contributors in the development category (@hodlorbust, @nawab69, @tolgahanuzun, @steempress, @petertag, @the1ramp).

Average score, reward (STU) and time before review (hours) per week

weekly_overview.png
Time before review is the number of hours between the creation of the post and the time it is reviewed by a moderator.

The average score of contributions has gone up from 63.3 to 65.6 this week, which is a good indication that the quality of contributions has also gone up! The average reward, just like the average score, has also gone up (from 46.3 STU to 83.9 STU), which is of course great for our contributors. This probably caused by the fact that at the time of posting more contributions have actually been upvoted compared to last week's post, with the priority being high quality contributions with a higher score. Lastly, the number of hours it takes for us to get to a contribution and review it (on average) has gone up slightly from 14.3 to 15.0, which isn't too bad.

Number of contributions reviewed per week

As you can see the weekly number of reviews is down from 34 to 28. Unfortunately this seems to be following a trend, as the number of contributions over the last two weeks is also down from 82, in the two weeks prior, to 62. Hopefully it will pick up in the following weeks!

With the number of reviews going down this week it's really cool to see the number of unique contributors has still gone up slightly from 25 to 28!

Thank you for submitting such a comprehensive report for the Utopian development category.
Keep up the great work.

I assume the Score distribution in the development category chart would have been easier to understand if the numbers of contributions are on the horizontal line and the scores are on the vertical line.

Please note that while the CM haven't changed the footer, I am not scoring #iamutopian posts based on the questionnaire. They have their own metric, and that will be the case until we go live with the new guidelines and new questionnaire, which will be comprehensive enough to reflect these types of posts.

Your contribution has been evaluated according to Utopian policies and guidelines, as well as a predefined set of questions pertaining to the category.
