This is a weekly, semi-automated post where I will show some statistics and graphs of the development category. It will also serve as a showcase for the staff picks and task requests that were made in the current week. If you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see in this post, then please let me know!

1Ramp Android Updates -- Drafts, Repost, and Delegation Details by @the1ramp

The 1Ramp team has been very busy over the past few months. Now that they’re back from SteemFest3, they have gone straight back to developing awesome new features for their Android application. This update is features that may be small, but are essential in getting the best out of Steem through an Android application. They are setting the base before rolling out an interesting micro-community building model, as @vikonomics discussed at SteemFest3.

Open Sourcing of UA by @steem-ua

UA has definitely had a big impact on the Steem community over the last few months. People have been very outspoken with their opinions about it, with one of the biggest complaints being that that it wasn’t open source. Well, I’m glad to say that’s no longer the case! @holger80 and @scipio have just open sourced the first set of components of UA (with more to come in the future), so if you are interested in how it truly works, you can now check out (part of) the code!

Category summary

  • There were 24 contributions of which 21 were, or will be, rewarded.
  • The average score was 63.8 with an average reward of 29.2 STU from Utopian.
  • The total reward from Utopian for development contributions this week (so far) is 583.6 STU.
  • There were a total of 20 unique contributors in the category. Of those 5 were new contributors in the development category (@jacobyu, @steem-ua, @uyobong, @princessdharmy, @kennybll).

Number of contributions per weekday

weekly_number_contributions.png

As you can see, Saturday was the day with the most activity in the development category. I wonder why... Sunday had the least activity in the entire week, so if you are scared of competition then this is the day to contribute! Obviously it's not that surpising that this happened on Sunday as you were probably all out doing something else on the last day of the weekend.

Average score, reward (STU) and time before review (hours) per week

weekly_overview.png
Time before review is the number of hours between the creation of the post and the time it is reviewed by a moderator.

Unfortunately the average score of contributions is down from 72.5 to 63.8 this week. The average reward has gone down from 37.8 STU to 29.2 STU. Of course with the average score also going down, this was to be expected. Finally, the number of hours it takes for us to get to a contribution and review it (on average) has gone down a bit from 16.2 hours to 14.0 hours.

Number of contributions reviewed per week

weekly_reviewed.png

As you can see, the weekly number of reviews is down from 27 to 24. Unfortunately this seems to be following a trend, as the number of contributions over the last two weeks is also down from 63, in the two weeks prior, to 51.

Contributors

Number of unique contributors per week

With the number of reviews going down this week it's unfortunately not that surprising to see the number of unique contributors go down slightly from 23 to 20 either.

Moderators

  • @amosbastian reviewed 7 contributions with an average score of 58.2.
  • @codingdefined reviewed 5 contributions with an average score of 52.8.
  • @helo reviewed 11 contributions with an average score of 65.7.
  • @justyy reviewed 1 contribution with an average score of 10.0.

Number of reviews per weekday

weekly_number_reviews.png

As you can see, Monday was the day where we reviewed the most contributions in the development category. I wonder why... Saturday was the day where we reviewed the least. I'm sorry if you submitted your contribution on that day and had to wait a while for your review, but at least now you know when we are the most active. Despite being programmers we surprisingly still have lives, so this happening in the weekend shouldn't be that surprising (hopefully).

Thank you for this detailed overview. As usual, It contains every relevant information about the Development category. All data are well illustrated, but I'm contemplating about the chart of ''Number of contributions''.
According to the summary, 21 contributions were scored, but 22 contributions are on the chart. Am I missing something?
I appreciate your effort and have a great week!

Please note that while the CM hasn't changed the footer, I am not scoring #iamutopian posts based on the questionnaire. They have their own metric, and that will be the case until we go live with the new guidelines and new questionnaire, which will be comprehensive enough to reflect these types of posts.

Your contribution has been evaluated according to Utopian policies and guidelines, as well as a predefined set of questions pertaining to the category.
