SteemFlagRewards Project Update: Spicing up our Reports! 🌶️steemCreated with Sketch.

in #utopian-io5 years ago (edited)

Greetings, Steemizens of our great crypto-sphere!

Contrary to unpopular belief, really don't think it's flat. I digress.

What do I have for you today? I'm playing ketchup errr... I mean catch-up!

Enough fun and games. Let's get into to this update!

1. Added get_rewards_chart function

image.png

The charts are nice aesthetic touch to our reports. I originally wanted to use MatPlotLib the Imgur Application Programming Interface as a image hosting provider but noticed a caveat on Imgur about commercial use.

Being that the reports do generate crypto income for flaggers and a small 5% for the bot, I wasn't exactly sure about this route so opted for an alternative.

image.png

Instead, I opted for a service called Plotly but the plotly account is limited to only 25 charts. We quickly exceeded that limit and I've had difficulty removing the charts to keep up. I eventually added a try-except to the function so it would not break reports. The charts are now a best effort effort addition w/ no guarantees.

image.png

I'll try to purge my free account when I have time. The Student plan costs $99 USD a year and would allow for 2500 charts. These visual representations are a "nice to have". Our foremost concern is using our resources to build flagging and healing potential. This will help us keep up to pace with our adversaries.

2. Updated Report Functions

image.png

It was recommended by @mids106 that we add an additional aspect of gamification to our reports. The intent is to show the success rate of our reward removal capability of abuse. Here is an example:

image.png
Yes, I am a fan of the Metal Gear Solid Series.

One thing that I would like to emphasize is this does not mean we are actual failures. Our primary objective is to remove rewards from abuse. You can think of our ability to zero payouts as something of a side quest.

Ooos!

The one thing I DO NOT want our flaggers to do is to refrain from flagging high payout abuse because they don't believe we will be able to zero it. The important thing is reducing the overall return-on-investment on abuse. If we can flag the post below payout, that's just an added bonus.

3. Updated Flag LeaderBoard function

image.png

I have updated this function to return the markdown code required to add the leaderboard to our flagger reports. In the past, I would need to grab a comma separated list file and paste into a markdown table generator. Now, the leaderboard is automagically added to our reports. Here is an image of the current Top 5 along with our SFR Rank Structure.

image.png

@themarkymark boasts the highest SFR enlisted rank of F-9. In the US Marines, that would be the equivalent of a Master Gunnery Sergeant. I expect flag forces to render proper respect!

These individuals have helped the SFR cause in many ways. Right now, the ranks are determined by reward shares but this will be expanded. My vision is to convert all forms of previous support into future stake in the project and it's direction.

This will include delegations, past and present, and votes on both @steemflagrewards / @sfr-mod-fund reports. These reports support both flaggers and our moderators via beneficiary rewards.

This will mean something as we mature into a full-blown decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Our supporters will be able to drive and help decide how we move forward. You will be a intergral part of governance.

P.S. I am working on refining the script I use to payout flag campaigns. The previous campaign titled "Single Meme = $158? Seems Legit + SFR Project Update and New Meme Flag Campaign Open!" will be paid once this is complete. Additionally, all participants Flagger Meme ranks will be updated.

Dr. Downvote from NerdCity will be added!

Would you like to delegate to the Steem Flag Rewards project and promote decentralized moderation?

It's much more fashionable than self-voting.

Here are some handy delegation links!

New Supporter Incentives Coming!

I will be providing increased flag incentives to those that:

This will improve our @busy.org support and flag capabilities. It is NOT a requirement but will be a perk for those willing to support. Furthermore, I will be working flagger / delegator incentives into the @steemflagrewards upvote algorithm. Stay Tuned.

Note: The primary incentive is reducing the profitability of abuse platform wide. This benefits all users of the Steem blockchain so please consider support.

Also, here is my SteemAuto fanbase link if you would like to be one of my consistent supporters.

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for keeping the SteemFlagRewards program active.

Your contribution to Steem is a great cause. As more account holders realize how abuse is degrading the value of their STEEM, anti-abuse efforts should always be made part of curating.

The leaderboard is pretty impressive. Congratulations! With the recent uptick on Steem, I hope the team removed a bit more this week.

For the "Mission Failed" - I agree that it shouldn't be taken as failure when the rewards aren't zeroed out. Maybe a "Mission Incomplete" verbiage or something similar, would work? Just thinking out loud.

Thanks for your contribution, looking forward to the next update!

A wise green Muppet once told us, "do or do not, there is no try!" So, mission failed it is!

Personally, I do like your suggestion. Against bid bot abusers, for example, giving them negative ROI is already a win in my book.

You got put on mackbot. You should maybe take that up with @steemcleaners.

That's their bot and they don't just add people for no reason. Check your self.

It's called an accent.

@duarte9sousa I can counter every flag\selfvote you make... stop trying to make it personal...
