Project Details

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser... Node.js allows the creation of Web servers and networking tools using JavaScript and a collection of "modules" that handle various core functionality... Node.js represents a "JavaScript everywhere" paradigm, unifying web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server side and client side scripts.

In simple words, this project brings value to the open source community because it facilitates the creation of all sort of applications using JavaScript, and provides a lot of help and versatility to developers. If you want to know more about this project feel free to visit its website

  • Translation Overview

This is my seventeenth contribution to Node.js, I am progressing nicely with the folder named CHANGELOG_V6.md. Although this particular folder is very extensive, so far I have completed 20% of its strings. It is extensive because it includes all of the information about every change belonging to Node.js V6. Strings are mostly short sentences with a few technical terms, they are written this way to provide the necessary information in the most efficient way possible. Every proposed change also includes the name of the person who proposed it. As always, to preserve the original meaning of the text, some strings were left untranslated.

Below there are a few examples of the work done:

English

[<0>dbb65203f1</0>] - <1>buffer</1>: remove a wrongly added attribute specifier (Jiajie Hu) <2>#14466</2>

Spanish

[<0>dbb65203f1</0>] - <1>buffer</1>: remover un especificador de atributo añadido incorrectamente (Jiajie Hu) <2>#14466</2>

English

[<0>95be08e3d2</0>] - <1>benchmark</1>: fix typo in inspect-proxy (Vse Mozhet Byt) <2>#14237</2>

Spanish

[<0>95be08e3d2</0>] - <1>benchmark</1>: corregir error tipográfico en inspect-proxy (Vse Mozhet Byt) <2>#14237</2>

English

[<0>8b3ac4b2a2</0>] - <1>tools</1>: add custom private key option (Ruslan Bekenev) <2>#14401</2>

Spanish

[<0>8b3ac4b2a2</0>] - <1>tools</1>: añadir opción de clave privada personalizada (Ruslan Bekenev) <2>#14401</2>

When working on this contribution I was able to learn the following concept:

Char: The abbreviation char is used as a reserved keyword in a number of programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, and Java. It is short for character, which is a data type that holds one character (letter, number, etc.) of data. | Source

Aix: AIX (Advanced Interactive eXecutive) is a series of proprietary Unix operating systems developed and sold by IBM for several of its computer platforms… AIX is based on UNIX System V with 4.3BSD-compatible extensions. It is one of six commercial operating systems that have versions certified to The Open Group's UNIX 03 standard… AIX was the first operating system to have a journaling file system, and IBM has continuously enhanced the software with features such as processor, disk and network virtualization, dynamic hardware resource allocation (including fractional processor units), and reliability engineering ported from its mainframe designs. | Source

Spawn: Spawn in computing refers to a function that loads and executes a new child process. The current process may wait for the child to terminate or may continue to execute concurrent computing. Creating a new subprocess requires enough memory in which both the child process and the current program can execute. | Source

In the previous contributions, I included the definition of these terms: deprecation, I/O - input/output, callback, asynchrony, POSIX, parsing, path, wildcard, wrapper function, stack trace, floating point value, error-first callbacks, transpilation tool, root certificate, little-endian, DNS rebinding, same-origin-policy, keep-alive behavior, stringification, arrow function, salt (cryptography), semver, lint, fixtures modules, newline, backporting, shell command, ES6 Classes , code refactoring, segfault, tarball, benchmark, type-check and deflate.
