There was no official task request for this contribution by the project owner on utopian. The project owner was contacted via an issue on Github.

Overview

Creating a contributor's guide for this project(Dups) was not explicitly requested by the project owner but was needed. Prior to creating the document it was stated by the project owner in the readme file of the absence of a contributor's guide. I offered to help create the document for the project owner as can be seen in the issue where I contacted him. The aim of a contributor's guide which is often given the filename contributing.md is to spur other individuals in the open source community to contribute to the project and also inform them how to contribute and what kind of contributions the developer accepts. Dups being a software still in it's alpha stages ideally needed a contributor's guide so as to facilitate contributions as there will be lots of it in coming times.

Actual content

The content of the contributing.md document was in two parts. First was actually how to contribute and then a standard code of conduct not entirely created by me but modified to suit the project.
In the contributor's guide, I stated how contributors can;

• Submit feature requests
• How to make coding contributions
• Submit bugs and crash reports
• Documentation contributions
• Create pull requests.

Additional information

The project owner seemed pleased with worked done but before the pull was merged, he pointed out places that need little corrections and I made those changes before the pull was eventually merged. The project owner has now fixed a link to the contributor's guide in the Readme file.
