Cannot upload photos on the Simple contacts app.

Expected behavior
When i click on a photo from my phone to upload on the app, the photo should be uploaded on the app.

Actual behavior
When i click on any photo from my phone i get an error message saying "cannot load the image"

How to reproduce

• download the simple contacts app from fdroid or play store
• open the app and click on any contact.
• click on the edit button at the top of the app which is inform of a pencil
• then click on the icon or image section at the top of the app which has a star button beside it to upload photo from your phone.
• click on any photo from your phone and get the error message.
• Browser: simple contacts V3.5.3
• Operating system: Android 7.0
