What is the project about?

I help run #comedyopenmic, currently it's a community run account @comedyopenmic, which tries to bring more laughter and comedy on to the steem blockchain, as well as providing a contest that is able to reward comedy, an often overlooked skill.

The community (much like a few others I have seen) continues to run via the hard work of volunteers, This project was put into action via a desire to thank volunteers and community members for their continued engagement in the community.

This bot will review the submitted names and if they've engaged with the community in the last 24 hours, give them upvotes as a thank you for their efforts.

Technology Stack

The bot is written in Python and requires steem-python be installed.

Roadmap

I plan to expand the bot to not just look at specific people but to look at everyone in the community and reward the most active members along with a thanks.

Looks like a cool community you have going on! There are some things you can improve on for future contributions, however

There are already quite a few projects that do something similar to this, like this one. I would make sure you aren't reinventing the wheel, as there might be something out there that already suits your needs!
I'm assuming you usually program in another language than Python? I would definitely recommend checking out PEP8, which can help improve the quality of your code.

There are so many projects on Utopian that I have difficulty finding the relevant ones when starting a new project.

The similarity between my bot and the one you linked to was that they target a specific tag, correct, but the similarities end there.

There are other differences but you get the idea. Yes, I could take the code you linked to and edit it so it does what I need it to do but that would completely change the bot, and take it someone I do not believe the original author intended the bot to go.
