Introduction and Campaign Strategy

My name is Ebixy Ebi Laffin and I have a page on Facebook where I promote open source applications.

Governance in Africa comes with a lot of challenges. Corruption and financial mismanagement thrive all because there is limited access to information about government activities and spending. With platforms like Alaveteli, any citizen can make a request for information. There is nothing that gives the citizens confidence like a transparent government free of secrets.

There is currently an Access to Information Act in Uganda. It gives citizens the right to information held by public bodies and private entities that receive public funds or perform public functions. Alaveteli makes the whole process easier. Internet access in Uganda is above 40%.

Bidding Strategy

I choose the Cost Per Click (CPC) bidding strategy. Bidding method was set as automatic meaning Facebook is to deliver the ad at the lowest cost possible. In this ad, my target was focused on people in the Journalism field. Journalist produce news and information has to be relevant. The ad ran for 6 days.

This post was a bit of a mixed bag. The service you're promoting is an important one, and the targeting seemed on point. You also reached your goals. These are all important positives.

However, there were grammar issues with both the post and - critically - the ad copy. Such a short text should be pristine, free of any errors. You wrote "A transparent platform that helps you make Freedom of Information (FOI) request." It should either be "A Freedom of Information (FOI) request" or "Freedom of Information (FOI) requests."

I also wonder about calling it a Freedom of Information (FOI) request. In the post, and my googling bears this out, you say the Ugandan law is called the Access to Information Act (ATIA). FOIA is an American law. Why use the US terminology, and not the local term?
