Entrepreneurs Chamber - Introducing Investors to the Blockchain!

Because of the Steem Power Box project, an Informal Meeting was achieved yesterday with the Vice-president of the Chamber and Members to talk amongst other things about Crypto and how especially the Steem Blockchain can start changing the game about commerce, entrepreneurs and potential investors to the Steem Blockchain.
In Uruguay, we are suffering and experiment called Mandatory Financial Inclusion and the plan is to disappear all the cash so everybody will have a credit card. Yes! believe it or not, we are in a country where experiments to be applied worldwide are first proved in here.
Happened with abortion, weed and now with this plan that has been pontificated since 2014 and now is eating us alive
While Government is making business in between them with our money, a new way of making business is in here with the Steem Blockchain and I'm making all my efforts to introduce Crypto to Investors and especially to the Steem Ecosystem of course.
This very first an informal meeting with the Entrepreneurs Chamber is the very first step of many that we have. We also arranged a Steem Workshop to explain the basis of the Crypto and all the information related to Steem.
One more time the Steem Power Box is opening unexpected doors and is evolving into something bigger than thought.
We are spreading the word not only with educational centers as the main idea was, but we are also raising awareness about the future, possibilities, and evolution.

I was unaware that Uruguay was doing this. It's all in an effort to reduce tax evasion and "capital flight" ... which there is a lot of in South America (I used to run two offshore hedge funds).
That said, a country requires a very sophisticated financial and banking system to go "cashless." I'm surprised that the government of Uruguay (or the International Organizations ... World Bank, etc. ... that are undoubtedly encouraging the effort) thought Uruguay had such a system.
I would suspect this is creating havoc.

Hi @quillfire and thanks for the reply... to be true Tax Reduction, Evasion and Capital Flight are just those nice words they use to make people feel -safe- and accept it. I think those three benefits especially applies only to the banks itself with this law, not to the Citizen and all.
The only thing that will change is that we will have more control and will not be free even to buy a candy.
Nowadays the ATM are giving -suspicious- problems so people can not take money anymore... That's a shame little by little they are doing what they want.
Nobody can *obligate you to contract with a third part enterprise, in this case, a Private Bank with your own money.. is the same that the Government tells you to who you will buy your food.
By the way.. next year almost 30% of the little business will disappear because of this :(

Wow ... that's what I call a bad plan!
Won't people simply hoard US Dollars or some other currency? Capital Controls are notorious for creating more problems than they solve. In China, it's a huge problem. A stable Crypto would obviously be another alternative. It sounds like the government is begging for a Black Market in non-Uraguan currencies.

Yo Quill! Not difference about Currency... in here we use Uruguayan Pesos and Dollars... is the same in some way..no cash, no cash.... no difference about the currency..if it's cash will not be allowed. And salaries/debts will be paid in the only legal way.. it means through the Banks or Credit Cards only. Not cash will be accepted :(

This is the first I've heard about the Steem Power Box, but it's really a great idea! Anything we can do to help protect the environment can't be anything other than good! As for the government testing the removal of paper money.. that seems inevitable, but way too soon for iit to make sense.. I really hope that works out!
