1UP Airdrop For Communities: Steem Monsters Spotlight
Introduction
1UP is a new open source upvoting system for communities where all user votes are equal. It upvotes the ten highest ranked posts in each community with a smart system for ideal community support and higher curation rewards. To increase this effect even more we create the UP token based on Steem's upcoming Smart Media Token (SMT) and distribute that to Steemians and communities via airdrops.
In this post we present the first of our ten featured starting communities and its specific airdrop: The popular trading card game @steemmonsters!

Steem Monsters Is A 1UP Starting Community
After the huge success of the Steem Monsters alpha and the amazing community growth it made sense to make Steem Monsters one of our ten starting communities. For that we drop our own 1UP community from the previous list, as we will be able to reward our community via special bounties. This means that all #steemmonsters posts will be able to get 1UP's from our new platform when it launches in October. The ten highest voted posts each day will get the the smart upvote from the community supporters and finally from the @steem-1up account.
The UP token will give us control over our own reward pool. That will make curating more efficient and create higher returns through curation rewards. Users with UP Power will earn automatic passive income for following communities in form of automatically growing stakes.
1UP will create 280 million UP tokens in total and airdrop 195 million of them to Steemians and communities in various forms. For more details about the distribution see the last 1UP news.
1 Million Airdrop For @SteemMonsters Account
We will airdrop ONE MILLION UP tokens to the @steemmonsters account. This will allow the founders to keep a continous support for their community on 1UP via their own substantial stake. All they have to do is keep the tokens powered up and follow their own community. The value of their stake will grow over time while rewarding their most popular content. This is a massive benefit for the Steem Monsters platform and an incentive to hold the UP tokens indefinately.
1 Million Airdrop For Steem Monsters Community
We will also airdrop ONE MILLION UP tokens to the community in form of specialized bounties that fit to the Steem Monsters content. This campaign runs for ten weeks, starting today, on September 15th.
Here are our two 1UP-Monster-Bounties:
Mushroom Monster - 50,000 UP Tokens Per Week
Draw a Mushroom Monster from the Funghi element.
The drawing should be digital and in the same comic style and quality as the existing Steem Monster cards. Just the monster without any background.
Here is some background info for inspiration:
The Funghi are a very intelligent and interconnected with each other through an underground network that connects with their feet on contact. They are ancient creatures and exist in all sizes and shapes but commonly have cap-heads. Their spore attack is infamous and their rapid network growth can quickly entangle their enemies. Legendary Mushroom Monsters can even create a few shortliving clones of themselves.
The title of your post should include Steem Monster Fanart: Mushroom Monster (1UP Fundraiser). You should use the tags #steemmonsters, #funghi and #1up for your contributions. Multiple entries are allowed. At the end put the following text and link to our Fundraiser campaign on the Steem-based Fundition platform:

Each week the five best monsters bring 10,000 UP tokens each. It will be possible to win more than once each week if the monsters are that good.
This is entirely an idea of 1UP and there was no previous communication with Steem Monster about this airdrop yet. This is a fan contest and should be seen as such as it is entirely up to the Steem Monster founders to decide if they want to use some of the material in the future.
Monster Giveaways - 50,000 UP Tokens Per Week
Give away one of your Steem Monster cards to the community. Make any form of public giveaway with the rules of your choice. The selection process of the winner should be transparent and reasonable. Abuse attempts will not be tolerated. This is about sharing some precious cards with the community and engage them to keep the buzz around Steem Monsters and 1UP active.
The title of your post should include Steem Monster Card Giveway (1UP Fundraiser). You should use the tags #steemmonsters, #card-giveaway and #1up for your contributions. This is a great update. I haven't played Steem Monsters yet, though I am intrigued. I love the fact that you seem to be tailoring drops to the specific communities. In this case, the you're rewarding specific fan and community activities is awesome.
I also find the decision to drop yourselves to make room for Steem Monsters is a noble one. You could have decided to add them, and make it 11 starting communities, but decided to stick to the originally announced number. It's also good that you have plans in place to reward the 1UP community.
I am, as ever, looking forward to see what you do next. The run-up to the SMT launch in March becomes more and more intriguing.

Looking at the sheet and the queue, you have two posts that are waiting for an upvote. Steem's outage probably caused a delay in all upvotes. You also have one that hasn't been reviewed yet. I'm likely to get to that tonight.

I was directed here by @flauwy and he said that I could earn tokens and gold foil cards. I assume he meant from the posts I did on @steemmonsters... I do see the contest to give away a card and it has special tags needed, but not sure if I need to do anything for my post to be added. Anyways, I think its a great concept and you are smart to team up with Steem Monsters, I believe you will find it a very win/win situation for both of your organizations!

If I understand it right then, it is only if I'm interested in drawing a character or hosting a steemmonster card giveaway. I thought it was for posts regarding steemmonsters that met certain standards. I think its a great thing you're doing and happy to see you engaging the community and I'm sure you will get a lot of traction! :)
