The Theme Feature not functioning properly on Steemwallet

Expected behavior
I expected the theme to change once I selected a new theme. E.g from light to dark.
Actual behavior
The theme of the app did not change when I went back. It only changes if I close the app and restart it.
How to reproduce
Open steemwallet app
Go to settings
Click on theme and select a new theme
go back and no changes (error)
Browser/App version: V 1.1.2.1
Operating system: Android 7.0

Unfortunately, the PO claims it is an intended behavior and that in order for the selected theme to become effictive you need to hard shutdown and restart the app.
