Project Details

The Curious Expedition is a rogue-like expedition simulation set in the 19th century. It's the first game by indie developer Maschinen-Mensch. The game is available on Steam, GOG, Humble Store and at the official homepage http://curious-expedition.com. The game has been regularly updated through out the last 2 years. A list of all the updates can be found here. For information on modding the game, go here . [source and more info]

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview: This is a really large project, approximately 80.000 words and obviously it's gonna take me a while to finish. In each part I plan to translate anywhere from 700 to 1200 words. For the most part, the translation is very easy as there are few, if any, technical terms.
  • Languages: The project is being translated from English to Greek.
  • Word Count: According to Crowdin, for Part 3# I translated 1122 words, for a total of 4169 translated words. Since most of the strings translated were part of the in-game dialogues there were only a handful (1, maybe max 2%) that were left in the original language, e.g. screenshot.

Thank you for contributing to the Davinci-Utopian translation project @trumpman!
This was the 6th contribution from you and the 4th for the “Curious Expedition” project.

As I already mentioned in my comment on your first part of this project:
You are currently working on the Curious Expedition, a game that, even though it may not contain difficult terms and vocabulary, is one of the biggest projects a member of our team has ever tried to work on (almost 80,000 words). Good luck on this difficult task!
When you started translating, a handful of strings were already submitted (but not approved or voted) by another translator irrelevant to the Davinci-Utopian project. You have gone through them and checked them for any corrections that needed to be made, you have even fixed a few of them that were problematic.

I won’t add anything new here.
Your translation is once again correct (in terms of grammar, syntax and manner of speaking), accurate, your writing style is exceptional and fun and totally fitting to the game.
You were very careful to keep the correct format of the original text, especially with certain symbols and spaces (a very important thing to keep in mind, because such mistakes would cause trouble with the format and appearance of the translated text in the game interface).

Your presentation post is also correct.

I will say it again: You are doing a great job by keeping the fun style of the game in your translation and I really like the fact that you find and use the appropriate Greek phrases to do so.

Thank you for working on our team! It is pleasure having you on board! :)
